Finance Lead, Turkey

Turkey is one of the 7 subsidiaries of the Middle East and Africa Area. Microsoft is present in the region for many years and has been a key enabler of the market IT growth through solid partnership with Governments, Enterprise, small and medium as well as IT partners and consumer partners of the region. Microsoft Finance team has the responsibility to partner with sales and marketing teams. Microsoft Finance is a truly global finance team and you will be part of the WW community of Subsidiary Controllers that make each other great and build on each other.

The CFO is part of the Area Finance Extended Leadership team making key decisions around people, processes and business Impact. The CFO is also part of the Subsidiary LT accountable for delivering the business results, driving the Company’s strategy whilst operating within the required governance. The CFO drives the Subsidiary Finance function, which comprises of Financial Control, Business Control and Control & Compliance on top of representing Microsoft externally.

Responsibilities

People: Foster a Microsoft Company owner mindset. Develop your own capabilities to bring deeper internal and external awareness of customers, competitors and industries. Maximize the potential of our finance organization by working effectively beyond reporting lines and geographies. Functional Lead of country dedicated Finance resources.

Prioritization:
Drive longer term planning, set strategies and align to resource allocation for maximum return & long-term growth in the local market aligned to propensity. Ensure FRA, AMR and controllable costs are met on a quarterly basis and deliver performance goals across the 4 solution areas. Simplify & reduce time spent on internal ROB.

Partnership:
Leverage deep actionable insights to drive topline revenue, customer adds, and consumption growth, by industry based on the propensity model. Special focus on T400 advanced workload consumption. Engage externally directly with BDMs and Partners in line with these priorities & help land customer wins. Drive programmatic collaboration with BD with the target to optimize deal economics across discounting, ECIF, Financing, credit concessions and ensure high quality DWR submissions.

Protect:
Compliance leadership & tone, monitor and support management’s responsibility to mitigate risk with special focus on preventing corruption, unethical sales, spend management, privacy and concession & discounts. Leverage One Finance, Centers of Excellence and external advisors to anticipate and mitigate emerging statutory, tax and fiduciary risks. Deliver timely and accurate financial and tax filings. Represent Microsoft in the local market when required

Key Indicators of success:
  • Improve ROI of resourcing and operating expenses and drive productivity across all 4 solution areas
  • Ensure FRA, AMR and controllable costs are met on a quarterly basis
  • Deliver budget in total & cloud revenue & consumption/usage & customer adds targets. T400 ADS consumption
  • Win wires involving finance
  • Improve deal economics by reducing concessions and driving down exit discounts
  • Improved compliance dashboard and audit results
  • % of OLC cases founded reduced
  • Deliver timely and accurate financial and tax filings

Qualifications

  • 5 years of active experience in similar role
  • 10 to 15 years of experience in finance / finance leadership positions
  • Experience in Multinationals with multi-product/multi-segment finance roles is recommended
  • Fluent in English
  • BA/BS or MBA degree in Finance, Economics, CPA/CA preferred
