Australian Embassy’s Turkey Direct Aid Program (DAP) 2020-2021

DESCRIPTION

The Direct Aid Program (DAP) is a small grants program funded from Australia’s aid budget. It has the flexibility to work with local communities in Turkey on projects that reduce poverty and achieve sustainable development consistent with Australia’s national interest.

In the past, successful projects have focussed on achieving practical and tangible outcomes in: community development, education, gender equality, disabilities, youth and economic empowerment.

In 2020-21, The DAP Committee will be looking for projects that achieve practical and tangible outcomes in priority development sectors, including:

  • education;
  • health, including building of vulnerable communities’ resilience to COVID-19, and projects that support local COVID-19 response and recovery efforts;
  • gender equality and women’s economic empowerment;
  • empowerment of persons with disabilities; and
  • empowerment of youth.

Turkey’s Direct Aid Program (DAP) is now open for project submissions for the 2020-2021 period.

  • Opening Date : 09:00 hrs (GMT+3) on 1 October 2020
  • Closing Date : 17:00 hrs (GMT+3) on 23 October 2020

There is no minimum amount that a single DAP project can receive in Turkey but the maximum is AUD 10,000 over the life of the project. Embassy exchange rates will be used for local currency. Funding should be expended by 30 June 2021, but projects may run up to a maximum of two years following the expenditure.
