ROLE PURPOSE
This role is an operational expert role for maintaining and improving Vodafone Fixed Voice & TV Services Network Platforms.
Job Responsibility
Your place in the team
- Setup and maintain voice services infrastructure & equipment:
Take necessary actions to prevent possible problems in Voice Services.
Solve problems that might occur on these systems working in cooperation with vendors, outsourced companies and other teams in Vodafone.
Follow capacity of voice services platforms and take necessary actions to increase/decrease capacity when required.
Maintain security of platforms working in cooperation with security related teams in Vodafone.
Plan and attend operations on the platforms for fixing issues and keeping updated with new features
Prepare documentation of platforms and services according to company policies
Periodically check platforms for possible improvements
- Collaborates with vendors and 3rd parties for products and services provided.
- Provide7/24 support, 3rd level customer needs which are not solved by 1st and 2nd level support teams.
- Develop scripts, GUI & portal for troubleshooting and monitoring KPI of network.
- Maintain IPTV support & monitoring platforms.
- Use management tools and self-developed scripts to
follow and report problems/capacity on the infrastructure

Long Description
- Prepare documentation, presentation and training about voice services to team members, other Vodafone teams, customers, partners and other 3rd parties when required
- Attend customer meetings with sales teams when required
- Collaborates with 3rd party vendors for sourcing of skills required.
- Collaborates with 3rd party vendors for products and services provided.
- Watching further redundancy scenarios in line with the effort to add value for the network.
- Follow technology to understand and be able to implement new voice based services.
- Attend seminars, conferences and other activities about new technology, software & hardware related to voice services.
- Attend tests of new equipment and platforms to be able to take responsibility for operation. Ability to see the big picture as well as the important details.
- Ability to work effectively in a changing environment
- Ensure that VF HSE&W procedures are implemented and works carried out in compliance with local HSE regulations.
- Ensure that work associated risks are assessed and reduced so far as is reasonably practicable
- Comply with VFTR’s information security policy, standards and procedures, available under Intranet / Corporate Security Library,
- Report all suspected security and/or policy breaches, potential security risks to VF TR Corporate Security,
- Protect VF TR’s information assets from unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, destruction or interference,
- Protect user accounts and associated passwords , and accept accountability for any actions performed via usage of those accounts.
- Ensure that VFTR BCM policy /standard ,procedures ,plans implemented and works carried out in compliance with standards
- Ensure that BCM risks are assessed and mitigated so far as is reasonably practicable in VFTR Business Continuity Management System (BCMS)
- Ensure VTR BCMS by planning, establishing, embedding, implementing, monitoring, reviewing, maintaining and improving within VFTR
- Leading L2 Team members in accordance with their specific role in the team and prepare operational reports for L2 activities.
Long Description
We are looking for you if you have
- Degree qualified in an Engineering or a Science discipline
- Significant experience of VOIP planning and operation activities on multi-vendor environment such as Cisco, Dialogic, Netcentrex/Comverse, AcmePacket, Nextone.
- Deep understanding of voice & communication basics and voip protocols like ISUP, SIP, H323, SS7, MGCP, etc.
- Knowledge about IPTV technologies & Video Conferencing solutions.
- Knowledge on IMS infrastructure & components
- Understanding of billing methods and common knowledge on billing systems (MIND)
- Understanding of network infrastructures, application and transport layer
- Ability to troubleshoot problems on IP networks , taking traces and network captures
- Basic understanding of network security
- Basic shell scripting knowledge
- Fluent in English
- Strong analytical deduction
