Tutor-Fixed Term

The Department of Linguistics and Germanic, Slavic, Asian and African Languages seeks applications for a pool of qualified fixed-term tutors for Less Commonly Taught languages if the need arises. Please note that a position could be for one or more tutorials, depending on the needs of the department. It is possible that no positions are needed in some semesters. The review of applications is ongoing and continuous.

Responsibilities include working closely with the LCTL coordinators to lead tutorials in the LCTL program, and attending training meetings and biweekly progress meetings. Tutors will be evaluated by the LCTL Teaching Coordinator.

Required Degree

Bachelors

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Native or near-native literate speaker of a NON-African Less Commonly Taught language, including, but not limited to: Persian, Tagalog, Thai, Turkish. (Please note-speakers of African Languages can apply to job application #654335)

Desired Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or PhD
