Staff Project Engineer

As the GCMS Aftermarket Engineering – Staff Project Engineer you will support leading both the Turkish Utility Helicopter Program Depot Level Maintenance (DLM) Program with responsibility for delivering technical documents & The COLAR Airframe Program responsible for establishing DLM Overhaul and Repair capability for contracted Airframe components. The DLM Lead Engineer will report to the Aftermarket Chief Engineer and dotted line to the TUHP and the COLAR Program Managers.

The DLM lead engineer is responsible for ensuring that engineering correctly plans an Earned Value (EV) Primavera Budgeted Schedule and then executes the engineering EV schedule on time and on budget (with appropriate performance metrics). This includes interfacing with other program elements and serving as the primary engineering point of contact both internally and externally to the customer. The DLM lead engineer is required to coordinate engineering expertise from the required engineering functional teams and will lead an engineering team with direct interfaces to other Engineering functional groups, Purchasing, Logistics, Publications and Suppliers. They will assist in proactively managing and resolving any issues or conflicts that may arise.

The Lead will also be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Coordinates planning, organization, control, integration and completion of engineering projects within area of assigned responsibility
  • Plans and formulates engineering program; reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications
  • Reporting on standard processes and metrics to the Chief Engineer and Program Manager
  • Validation of the technical data delivered to the customer
  • Participation in multidisciplinary teams to create the standard work to deliver the required data to the customer
  • Delivering Tool Designs, Operation Sheets, Overhaul and Repair Instructions (ORI), and other Technical Data as listed in the contract and in accordance with Department of State requirements
  • Engineering point of contact for any DLM technical assistance requested from the customer

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 9 years of professional experience; or 7 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree.
