Qualifications
- BS degree in Engineering (preferably Environmental, Chemical or Industrial Engineering)
- At least 7 years of relevant experience in industrial environmental issues and regulations, pollution prevention and control
- An understanding of environmental policy and legislation in the EU
- Thorough knowledge of the IED (ex IPPC) Directive and the concepts within (i.e., Best Available Techniques (BATs), BAT Reference Documents, cleaner production, resource efficiency) is an asset
- Particular knowledge and understanding of chemical and mineral industries is an asset
- A good understanding of process engineering, material flow analysis, pollutant release and transfer mechanisms and familiarity with reporting systems including PRTR
- High sense of responsibility and ability to handle multiple tasks
- Strong analytical and time management skills
- Excellent problem solving and team working skills
- Able to communicate and negotiate with high level representatives
- No obligation of military service for male candidates
- No restriction for travel (up to 10% travel, domestic and international)
- Fluency in English, both spoken and written, is a must
Job Description
- Act as a senior technical expert for an integrated pollution prevention and control related project
- Support update of industrial facility inventory and inventory management activities
- Prepare questionnaires, check lists and conduct field studies to facilitate data collection
- Analyse industrial processes, carry out input-output material flow analysis and evaluate sectoral data to check BAT compliance levels
- Carry out periodical project follow-up and establish a good working relationship with international business partners and high-level stakeholders
- When necessary work as a domain expert to guide software development team
- Work as part of an inter-disciplinary and dynamic team of experts
- Deliver high-quality outputs and policy documents as required by the technical specifications
- Represent Ekodenge in technical and business development events
