  • Scope, & Impact:

  • The scope of the role is: Operating unit operational sustainability, focused on World Without Waste/packaging collection and r-PET.
  • The role has direct impact and influence over the implementation of the most optimum Operating unit sustainability strategy and plan in line with the global sustainability strategy regarding WWW commitments.
  • The footprint of the role is connecting end-to-end the design, collect, and partner pillars, for achievement of World without waste goals to a multilayer technical sustainability culture and capability development.
  • The role is responsible for Capex recommendations regarding WWW and r-PET covering the functional areas of: packaging, waste management, circular economy and operational sustainability strategies.
  • The goals and strategies for the role focus on short-term (1 year), mid-term (2-3 years) and long term (3+ years) development and execution of the Operating Unit Sustainability WWW/packaging collection and r-PET Strategy, Programs, Goals & Targets and tracking progress.
  • Work with Public affairs communication, scientific regulatory affairs and Government Affairs teams for any new legislation that may affect the Company resulting in environment taxes
  • Responsibility in multiple franchise units: Turkey, CCAR, Middle East, Israel and Pakistan/Afganistan

  • Focus Areas:

    A sustainability packaging role reporting directly to Operating unit Sustainability Dir with clear responsibility to coordinate the WWW/packaging, collection and r-PET technical sustainability agenda cross functionally across QSE, Public affairs and communication and the Operating unit leadership teams. The following areas define the key focus of the role:

  • Technical sustainability strategy: Ensure within the global sustainability strategy and commitments the most optimum and accelerated implementation of the Operating unit WWW/packaging and r-PET strategy. Define and execute the Operating unit technical sustainability strategy, commitments, initiatives and prioritization to implement the Operating unit growth agenda. Ensure accelerated progress of sustainability commitments across WWW/packaging while ensuring Operating unit sustainability-by-design leadership in innovation and across the supply chain. In collaboration with the PACS and Operating unit sustainability leads influence sustainability agenda and investments.
  • Governance, compliance: Ensure Operating unit has all license to operate and core sustainability requirements, Operating unit governance are in place in line with the global governance framework requirements and local risks.
  • Innovation: Ensure the technical sustainability innovation pipeline, technical sustainability agenda is in place, drive top and bottom line growth and create competitive advantage. Lead the implementation support for WWW/packaging and collection operational sustainability aspects that protects and enhances our regional and corporate reputation.
  • Operating unit WWW/packaging, collection and r-PET network orchestration: Drive organizational alignment on operational sustainability across Operating unit-Bottling partners and corporate QSE. Champion Operating unit System WWW / packaging, collection and r-PET sustainability agenda and overall Culture and Strategies to enable business growth. Bring the external view in, drive external engagement and benchmarking, ensure leadership presence in industry associations.

    Work Focus

  • Inspired by the operating unit World without waste/packaging, collection and r-PET technical sustainability vision, drive engagement with the system partners to achieve goals.
  • Implement operating unit World without waste/packaging, collection and r-PET Sustainability strategy, implement governance and controls connected with the strategy, monitor the internal and external trends.

    • Determine the Operating unit World without waste/packaging, collection and r-PET framework and priorities, work with business to drive risk assessments and monitor risk
    • Implement Operating unit Science Based Targets (SBT) and action plans
    • Provide technical guidance on establishing collection schemes in markets
    • Execution of r-PET E2E governance and drive supplier/business development initiatives
  • Influence and recommend technical sustainability investment plans including complex analysis of cost, infrastructure (e.g.: collection and recycling) developments, strategic partnerships. Close collaboration with key stakeholders such as PACS, Operating unit- and franchise system leadership teams.
  • Connect strategically with external and internal networks and stakeholders to drive performance and benchmarking efforts, implement strategies and transform people and organizational capabilities accordingly.
  • Follow Operating unit vision and execute operational sustainability strategy that empowers, motivates, connects and inspires large teams.
  • Manage the Operating unit world without waste / packaging, collection and r-PET sustainability knowledge sharing center of excellence.
  • Implement and continuously improve the relevant performance models and systems to track risks and global/Operating Unit mitigation plans.
  • Responsible to approve, reject or withdraw previous authorizations of a recycled PET supplier, with an impact at national or regional level around new recycled PET supplier and packaging new developments. Promote the recycled PET resin facilities continuous improvement process to achieve their full production capacity and fulfill key initiatives implementation and commitments to achieve the key objectives: ISO´s certifications, quality audit performance improvements, bottlers complains decrease, quality packages issues, supplier laboratory the coca-cola company tests validations, improvements around the key process, etc.
  • Provides recommendations around the following topics: technical approach on new legislative governmental proposals, activate the Incident Management Crisis Resolution
  • Work with packaging commercialization teams in order to excel and advance at soon as the new projects are developed within the business plan in order to include the consideration of post-consumer packaging waste handling.

  • Communication Focus

    Influence and alignment with stakeholders internally and externally, including Technical leadership team, Operating unit leadership team, Global technical innovation and supply chain leadership, System Franchise Bottling partners leadership, Global Category leaders, Supply Chain partners, Government and Industry stakeholders.

  • Work with internal networks – public affairs and communication), Procument group, Scientific and regulatory affairs , Supply Chain, R&D and innovation
  • Communication, negotiation and engagement with multiple key stakeholders to influence and gain alignment on the short- and the long- term operational sustainability strategies and investments.
  • Communicate across the operating unit and the Coca-Cola company networked organization a sustainability culture with “Zero is possible” mindset.
  • Think outside-in and is well connected, involve a broader set of stakeholders in decision making.
  • Influence the Coca-Cola bottling system to fulfil the Company requirements along the supply chain on packaging footprint reduction. Resolve sustainable packaging issues with bottler and ensure the performance improvement of the business
  • Deal with situations where other parties have shared interests or opposing interests related to operational sustainability agenda development and implementation plans.
  • Work with public affairs and communication and Scientific regulatory affairs teams for any new legislation that may affect the Company resulting in environment taxes
  • Negotiations with suppliers PET Recycled material for improve their performance, conducting quality audits and suppliers guiding principles audits; solve quality issues, on time ISO´s certifications achievement and guarantee quality and food safety specifications fulfilment on new products launches.


Experience

Minimum 10 years of professional experience.

University / Bachelor´s degree: Chemical Engineer, Food Engineer, Industrial Engineer is mandatory
