Role Purpose

Vodafone Turkey consists of a group of companies acting in several areas that offer a variety of products and services such as telecommunication, e-commerce, insurance, finance, payment services and online TV broadcasting. Whilst providing these, protecting millions of individuals’ privacy is a top-priority for us. As a part of a well-established and experienced privacy team, you will be responsible for conducting Vodafone Turkey’s data protection compliance in accordance with The Personal Data Protection Law No 668 (PDPL), The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the other respective legislation.


Job Responsibility


Your Place in the team

  • Support and assist business departments in terms of data privacy issues.
  • Conduct privacy impact assessments of the new products and services from legal perspective.
  • Draft legal texts (privacy notices, explicit consent and marketing permission forms, data breach notifications, data inventories, policies etc.) as necessary.
  • Support respective business teams to maintain data protection compliance programme.
  • Negotiate data processing agreements as well as data protection terms of all sort of agreements.
  • Coordinate and response to individual applications within the scope of local legislation.
  • Prepare and give tailor-made data protection trainings for business departments such as HR, Finance, Marketing and Sales.
  • Assist Vodafone Group Privacy team for implementing Group level projects in the local market.
  • Present and report to Data Privacy Steerco on the risks, mitigations and operational KPIs.
  • Develop templates, guidances, processes etc. with the objective of making the data protection activities more effective and practical.
  • Participation / process follow-up/ setting the agenda / giving opinions to draft laws at sectoral or any other important institutions, as necessary.


We are looking for you if you have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) required. Master degree in Law (LLM) highly preferable.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in data protection area. Experience within ICT sector and/or regulated sectors such as banking and finance, insurance etc. would be highly advantageous.
  • Experience on maintaining a compliance programme.
  • Experience in negotiating contracts and data protection clauses.
  • Good understanding of local and European privacy landscape in technology and online businesses.
  • Ability to analyse complex information and identify key and relevant points, including communicating in a relevant and easy to understand manner.
  • Experience of OneTrust would be highly advantageous.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in both Turkish and English.
  • Project / Programme Management skills – demonstrable track record successfully managing projects at the highest technical and tactical levels, coordinating multi-discipline projects
  • Ability to work with a global team. Energetic, self-starter, flexible, goal-oriented.
