Overview

Milestone places tremendous importance on our role as an “International School”. It is a KG-12 school located in Bağcılar, İstanbul. Our vision statement communicates our goal of developing students to become “global citizens”; of raising children to become responsible partners for all humanity and stewards of the environment. Additionally, we commit ourselves to the ‘holistic’ development of every student – cognitive, academic, emotional, social and physical growth. Our written curriculum is based on the US Common Core and California State standards, with objective measures in place to track every child’s academic growth.

We are looking for teachers who possess exceptional skills in the following areas: relationship building; communication in all forms with students, staff, and parents; classroom management; planning and providing relevant and meaningful instruction; student engagement; collaboration with teammates, coaches, and administration; problem solving; and creativity.

The subjects that we need are:

– Physics Teacher

– Chemistry Teacher

– Biology Teacher

– Kindergarten Teacher

– P.E. Teacher

Responsibilities

– Able to be a positive team-player and communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, students, and families

– Open to being coached and receiving feedback in order to advance learning and growth for students

– Plan, deliver and assess effective instruction that is tightly aligned with Cognia standards.

– Designs lessons based on best practices with clear learning targets and measurable goals aligned with Cognia standards and/or unit outcomes. Frequently plans collaboratively with colleagues.

– Conveys high expectations while using multiple effective strategies, materials, and classroom practices that involve and motivate students while differentiating instruction to meet students’ needs.

– Uses colleagues and own self-reflection on instructional practice to continually improve instruction.

– Classroom Management & Relationships: Fosters a well-structured and engaging learning environment by utilizing effective classroom procedures and routines while showing caring, respect, and fairness for all students.

– Family & Community: Consistently develops strong relationships with students’ families while diligently informing parents of expectations, positive news, and/or concerns about their children. Provides opportunities for parents to be involved in their children’s learning.

– Professional Responsibilities: Actively seeks out opportunities to collaborate with colleagues and other stakeholders in order to improve teaching & learning. Reflects on own instruction and leadership while contributing ideas, expertise, and time to the mission and goals of the school.

Qualifications

We are seeking teaching candidates who have:

– At least Bachelor Degree in Teaching

– Minimum 3-year certified experience that matches the degree

– Good knowledge of English

– CANDIDATES MUST HAVE A VALID RESIDENT PERMIT IN TURKEY
