General Purpose/Summary/Objective:
Role Player Cultural will support ARSOF Training as foreign language role player 1st Special Warfare Training Group (SWTG) and the United States Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School (USAJFKSWCS) with training support for Special Forces (SF), Civil Affairs (CA), Military Information Support Operations (MISO)Qualification Courses, and other ARSOF courses, in support of field and situational training exercises.
Essential Functions:
- Language Role players shall be able to write and speak in clear and concise grammar and pronunciation in the required foreign languages (Arabic, Chinese-Mandarin, Korean, Russian, Persian-Farsi/ Dari, Pashto, Turkish, Thai, Polish, Tagalog, Indonesian-Bahasa, French, Spanish, Urdu, Czech, or Hungarian) and shall be fluent in English and at least one other of the following languages: .
- Familiar with and able to conduct oneself in accordance with the local culture and customs of their native heritage.
Physical Demands:
Required to frequently sit, stand and walk for long periods of time
Required to reach with hands and arms
Required to frequently move ten pounds; occasionally lift or move up to twenty-five pounds
Exposure to hot conditions (over 90 degrees)
Exposure to cold conditions (below 32 degrees)
Exposure to wet and/or humid conditions
Required to perform in both rural and urban environments
The noise level in the work environment varies
See details of objects that are less than a few feet away
Understand the speech of another person
Speak clearly so listeners can understand
Must be able to read, write and understand English
Requirements/Qualifications:
Shall screen all Language/ Cultural Role Players for the skills listed below.
Category I (CAT I). Category I role players must have a 3 level speaking in the target language proficiency as measured by examination procedures that are equivalent to the Defense Language Proficiency Test DLPT) taken within the immediate 12 months preceding hiring.
Category I-A (CAT 1-A). Category I-A role players must have a 2 level in the target language proficiency as measured by examination procedures that are equivalent to the DLPT taken within the immediate 12 months preceding hiring.
Preferred Experience:
1 year experience
Category II (CAT II). Category II role players must have a 3 level in the target language proficiency as measured by examination procedures that are equivalent to the DLPT (this equates to an ALTA score of 9 or higher) taken within the immediate 12 months preceding hiring. CAT II role players must be U.S. citizens and in possession of a SECRET security clearance granted by cognizant authority.
Category III (CAT III). Category III role players must have a 4 or 5 level in the target language proficiency as measured by examination procedures that are equivalent to the DLPT taken within the immediate 12 months preceding hiring. CAT III role players must be U.S. citizens and in possession of a SECRET security clearance granted by cognizant authority.
Education Requirements:
Work Authorizations/Security Clearance: Must hold and maintain a Secret clearance.
