Job Description

The Project Associate (PA) will support projects assigned under Chemical Security Program’s (CSP) portfolio covering chemical security, nonproliferation, and counter-terrorism focused priorities. Under the supervision of the Senior Project Lead, the PA will have primary responsibility to support designing, planning, and executing projects, as well as independently planning/implementing grant competitions, online webinars and pass-through projects assigned to them in a manner consistent with CRDF Global and funder objectives.

The ideal candidate is a highly motivated individual who has attention to detail and can work both independently and as a part of the team.

Major Responsibilities

Supports research, planning and organizational tasks for site visits, conferences, meetings, workshops, trainings, grant competitions, webinars, and other events

Supports planning, implementation, technical and financial reporting of projects to meet the stated grant and project objectives

Drafts reports and correspondence for funders, grantees, and consultants

Contribute significantly to proposal development efforts specifically in researching priority topics and developing written material of findings that may be used for publication to a variety of audiences. Oversees document and information management to ensure records and databases, including electronic and physical files, are current and complete

May travel within the US and internationally

Supports other programs and staff, as required

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
B.A/B.S. degree required

One or two years of work experience preferred

Administrative experience, as well as experience with remote trainings and education platforms such as Moodle a plus

Prior experience or background in chemical/CBRN security, international security or nonproliferation preferred

Substantive experience living and working/studying abroad or working with international organizations in the Middle East and North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, or South/Southeast Asia is a plus

Strong organizational skills, great attention to detail, focus on client and team needs

Ability to prioritize and multitask competing assignments

Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with team members, external clients and stakeholders

Solid research, writing and communications skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and ability to work with and maintain more advanced databases (experience with Microsoft Project, Power BI, and/or Salesforce is desirable)

Foreign language proficiency desired but not required; ability to communicate and research in Arabic, Turkish, or French is a plus
