New Openings Manager, EMEA

Wyndham Hotels & Resorts is now seeking a New Openings Manager, EMEA to join our team in Turkey.

Job Summary

Based in Turkey, the role is critical to the success of Hotel Openings for Europe, Middle East, Eurasia and Africa, managing all elements of the opening process and brand engagement of new franchised and managed hotel partners from the start of the pre-opening process to the post-opening Audit and through to eventual handover of the property to Field Operations / DFO.

The role will project management of processes and timelines sufficiently to anticipate and navigate around potential obstacles and, where possible, to prevent delays. It will be required to flag issues with suggested actions to resolve potential problems and minimise delay.

The role will be the point of contact for Pre-Openings in the EMEA region pulling on support resources from Central Operations and functional teams as required. It will review and improve business and project processes, document and analyse project activity to ensure fulfilment of the relevant tasks required to open a hotel, within the agreed timelines.

The role will be responsible for managing the assignment of the correct resources to initiate and distribute next actions to all parties. With many Team members based remotely and primarily customer facing, project management and coordination are critical to ensure we are easy to do business with and achieve agreed opening dates.

The role will pro-actively communicate with internal departments during various points of the hotel opening life cycle, to ensure engagement and the provision of accurate information and resources, with a guide on usage.

It will maintain an awareness of the brands and brand identities required for EMEA

Other key activities include;

  • Developing and maintaining the SOP and template library, enabling our operational colleagues to understand and manage if required each step of the opening journey.
  • Keeping the data pack format current to enable Central Operations to support hotels in the data pack completion, confident they have the latest information, with SOP’s and templates to support the process.
  • Liaising on a regular basis with Regional Directors and other internal departments, to ensure they have the information required to support a hotel opening and the wider team have the latest data for each opening to help drive Net Room Growth and to capture greater market share.
  • Providing proactive support to both the hotel GM and Field Operations during the hotel opening process – taking action on feedback provided through the pre / post opening audit process.

The person

The successful candidate with have a good knowledge of hotel operations as well as being a great project manager.

They will need to have a structured approach to their work, able to organise multiple projects concurrently and have a great eye for detail.

The role holder will be comfortable dealing with multiple stakeholders and comfortable to challenge constructively where required.

They will be happy dealing will an administrative heavy workload and on their own initiative.

Experience in a franchised environment is desired

Fluency in English is essential and additional EMEA languages would be an advantage

Experience of working with SalesForce and / or similar databases would be a significant advantage

Competency in the use of Microsoft office is essential including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

The role would suit a detail focused HOD or operations manager who is looking to move to a corporate environment.
