The Language Program Office is a member of the International Division, serving communities engaged in learning, teaching, and researching Less Commonly Taught Languages. The LPO is the home of the Wisconsin Intensive Summer Language Institutes, Project GO at UW-Madison, the American Institute of Pakistan Studies, and the Regional Flagship Languages Initiatives for Hindi, Indonesian, Turkish, and Urdu. This position will manage all financial and budgeting aspects of the LPO programs, working closely with partners and stakeholders both on and off-campus. Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate strong attention to detail, as well as experience with financial, budget, and/or grant management.

Degree and Area of Specialization:
No Degree Required
Professional training in accounting or auditing as would be required for a two-year associates degree in accounting or commensurate experience/training preferred.
Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:
Demonstrated competence in budget/financial management
Understanding of accounting/bookkeeping (theory or practice)
Excellent communication skills working with a variety of stakeholders, agencies, and partners
Ability to work as a member of a team, while also self-motivated to independently complete individual duties and meet deadlines
Strong attention to detail
Professional demeanor
Ability to maintain flexibility with shifting tasks, priorities, and deadlines
Experience with WISER preferred for tracking income and expense for various types of funding at UW
Experience with WISPER is a plus but not required
