What We Are Looking For
We are looking for solution-driven problem solvers to join our multicultural team as a Language and Culture Specialist. As an L&C Specialist, you will be responsible for building and maintaining your respective language. You will use your knowledge of both the language and the cultures which speak this language to ensure that classification is accurate and context based. As language evolves, whether through pop culture or natural progression, the L&C Specialists work together to ensure our clients can be confident that our languages are consistent and up to date.

As our Language & Culture Specialist you:
Understand and communicate the grammar, syntax and cultural specifics of your language
Classify the topic & risk of words/phrases
Build Smart Rules and groupings of words based on their semantic and morphology
Work as part of the Language & Culture team to problem solve issues that may arise within our tool
Participate in developing new and better ways of detecting content intended to circumvent our filters
Assist with client facing meetings to understand and solve language specific client issues/requests
Review chat data to ensure accurate classification
Analyze trending words
Add vocabulary to your language dictionary based on client requests, global issues, current events and other trends
Who You Are
You believe in our mission and want to make the internet a place for positive human connection.
You are a self starter, highly capable of taking initiative and proposing solutions to observed challenges. You are a team player who believes in collaboration to achieve bold goals. You have a love of details and problem solving.
You have completed (or are pursuing) post secondary education, preferably in language studies, linguistics, or computer science. You have a strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Office) and Google Drive (Sheets and Doc). Experience working with Confluence and/or JIRA is considered an asset. You have a strong proficiency in English in addition to fluency in your first language. Ideally, you have a strong grasp of parts of speech and language rules. You have the ability to keep concise documentation, prioritize tasks based on urgency, and organization skills.
You are familiar with social gaming and/or social networks with a willingness to learn new systems and tools.
The Details
Part Time position, 20 hours/week
