Junior Data Scientist

QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

How much product should I stock for next year? What will be my income for the next five years? How should I plan maintenance intervals for my equipment? Is there a way to estimate a spare part without malfunction? As Linktera Data Analytics Team, we try to answer these and similar questions of our customers. We create data pipelines for companies, build data models and turn them into software products. We are looking for colleagues to help us answer this (and many more) questions.

We are establishing a new team to find answers to many questions in the business world with data science. The role of the Data Scientist will be to look for solutions in this team by creating models for many different business problems for many different sectors. A successful candidate is a problem solver who can communicate between technical and business units, willing to create value from data, and struggle with difficult modelling problems.

We are currently seeking a “Junior Data Scientist”.

QUALIFICATIONS

• New graduate or senior in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science or Economics,
• Experience in at least one statistical software package such as Python, R or SAS,
• Using SQL for acquiring and transforming data,
• Quantitative modelling and statistical analysis skills,
• Verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively advocate technical solutions to business audiences,
• Familiarity with Machine Learning Algorithms such as Classification and Regression Trees,K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN),Support Vector Machines (SVM)etc.,
• Experience with Machine Learning toolkits such as Tensorflow, Pytorch.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Building complex data visualizations,
• Working in command-line Linux environments.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Implement statistical methods to solve specific business problems utilizing code (Python, Retc.),
• Contribute to the design and development of automated forecasting systems,
• Build customer-facing reporting tools to provide insights and metrics which track forecast performance and explain variance,
• Willing to follow the data science literature,
• Improve upon existing methodologies by developing new data sources, testing model enhancements, and fine-tuning model parameters.
