Job Description:

Türkiye, Middle East and Africa Country Cluster Engineering Manager supports UPS’s international operations by developing, implementing, and monitoring engineering processes and procedures to achieve business results. He/She ensures service levels, analyzes current practices, and aligns international operations with company objectives. This position provides engineering policy and procedure support to senior management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engineering Solution Development: Develop sustainable engineering solutions and repeatable processes that meet customer needs, improving overall efficiency and profitability for a specific geographic area.
  • Project Scope Definition: Define and manage the scope of engineering projects, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and company goals. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Team Management and Mentorship: Supervise and mentor team members, including supervisors, to ensure efficient operations. Provide training and guidance on best practices, operational processes, and work measurement applications.
  • Operational Process Improvement: Review, manage, and optimize current operational processes, recommending new methods and approaches for improved performance and quality. Lead continuous improvement initiatives within the team.
  • New Technology and Idea Deployment: Introduce and deploy new technologies, tools, or methods that align with the company’s strategic goals and enhance engineering capabilities for complex new customer projects.
  • Internal Communication and Coordination: Communicate internal network moves and coordinate with relevant internal functions to ensure smooth project transitions and implementation.
  • Support IE Resource Training: Provide training to Industrial Engineering (IE) resources in approved processes, tools, and work measurement applications. Ensure all team members are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze engineering data, perform statistical analysis, and generate reports to track performance and provide insights for project improvement and decision-making.
  • Site Layout Optimization: Evaluate and propose changes to site layout to optimize workflow, improve productivity, and reduce costs.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience: At least 7-9 years of experience in industrial engineering or a related field, with hands-on expertise in work measurement, process improvement, and project management.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to manage and mentor teams, with entry-level managerial responsibilities. Experience in leading and developing employees is an asset.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of engineering principles in work measurement, methods and procedures, operations research, finance, statistical analysis, and site layout. Proficiency in using engineering tools and software such as SAP, AutoCAD, or similar platforms is a plus.
  • Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to implement process improvements and solve complex engineering challenges.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to present complex engineering concepts in a clear and concise manner to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Project Management: Experience managing and executing engineering projects with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work within budget constraints.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work in a dynamic and evolving environment, adapting quickly to changes in technology, customer needs, and operational requirements.
