In-country HSEQ Manager

The Turkiye HSEQ Manager will have responsibility for HSEQ management and support of the Turkiye region while providing leadership, support to the in-country HSEQ team and wider country workforce.

The role is a leadership role within the Subsea7 Turkiye organisation and will sit on the Country Managing Directors Leadership Team. The role requires relevant experience to support the in-country HSEQ teams deliver their roles across the multiple worksites. Furthermore, you will be required to work alongside the Project HSE and Quality Managers to strategize, plan and support project operations.

Within the HSE scope, this will include:

  • Guiding In-country HSE initiatives and activities in line with GPC West HSE Plans, supervising the local team
  • Working with local Turkish suppliers to ensure they are delivering to required standards, including transport services and medical services.
  • Understanding and managing HSE legal compliance registers and risks.
  • Supporting the project in maintaining good relationships with the project clients.
  • Driving Safety leadership across the support functions and supporting the Project HSE Manager on project specific HSE activities.
  • Working closely with the Security Manager to ensure security protocols are being followed, people are being tracked and awareness is high on risks and upcoming events.
  • Overseeing the Istanbul Emergency Response Team to ensure readiness for potential emergencies.
  • Leading on environmental initiatives in line with GPC West plans.
  • Strengthening and backing the HSE team to create a substantial national network of HSE advisors and managers ready to steer future business activities.

Within the Quality scope, this will include:

  • Developing the regional quality management system to ensure compliance to the Subsea 7 Business Management System,
  • Develop a road map for Türkiye country to achieve ISO certification in the future,
  • Supporting the regional team with tender quality deliverables and securing more regional work,
  • Liaising with the GPC West and wider Subsea 7 quality teams to support global quality initiatives.

This is an exciting role working in an international business with a significant and growing portfolio of large, nationally significant projects. The role will be centrally located in Istanbul, however frequent stays will be needed in Filyos, Ankara (occasionally) and other worksites where HSE support is needed. 

Additional Key Requirements of the Role:

  • To be based in Istanbul with the ability to travel within Turkiye.
  • Capability to guide the local Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) and Quality team, providing assistance to the Project HSE Manager(s) or Quality Manager(s) when needed,
  • Proven experience in coordinating investigative efforts and producing comprehensive Root Cause Analysis reports through approaches including, but not limited to, Taproot and ICAM, and or other processes
  • Relevant professional qualifications and minimum 15+ years in either discipline,
  • Demonstrated experience working with diverse workforces and diverse cultural backgrounds,
  • Fluent in English both written and oral,
  • Skilled in conducting public speaking engagements and chairing various meetings, such as safety stand-downs, with professionalism,
  • Complete reports and other deliverable on time, including various administration tasks, and
  • Familiarity with international standard HSEQ management systems is advantageous.
