Job Description

AECOM has an immediate need for a Senior Risk Assessor to support our Environmental Remediation projects in Hawaii and Guam. This position will be based in Honolulu, but can be remote for the right candidate. This role will be focused on multiple large-scale remediation projects in Hawaii and Guam to include the management of a team of up to 10 persons including subcontractors. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in managing environmental remediation projects of $10 million dollars or greater – including Remedial Investigations, Feasibility Studies, and Remedial Actions for the Federal sector. The successful candidate will have at a minimum a BS in Engineering, Geology, or Environmental Science with a successful work history of environmental investigation and remediation projects. 

Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to the following:

  • Manages portfolio of clients with multiple projects.
  • Responsible for delivering revenues assigned from specific clients as a result of repeat business caused by flawless execution of projects.
  • Consistently delivers profit margins planned.
  • Consistently completes projects without write-downs or multiplier erosion.
  • Typically manages projects involving RTF (Risk Triggering Factors).
  • Manages more complex clients and projects.
  • Has decision-making authority and directs other Project Managers in recognizing risk and uncertainty with plans to mitigate and eliminate such.
  • Directs staff to operate and minimize exposure to claims.
  • Supervises and directs Project Managers with multiple projects or programs of projects.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science or related discipline and 10+ years of relevant experience, including two years of leadership experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Professional registration PG or PE or PMP
  • Experienced with CERCLA and environmental science principles, including site assessment and characterization, remediation, risk assessment, environmental chemistry, etc.
  • Candidate must possess current 40-Hour HAZWOPER and Supervisor certifications and be able to meet the medical clearance requirements of an OSHA (HAZWOPER) medical surveillance physical examination.
  • US Citizen, for access to DoD project sites
  • Ability to successfully obtain a DBID pass to gain access to any required federal military installation site locations.
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in engineering, Geology Environmental Science, or related discipline.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel at least 10% of the time
  • Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint) and preparing technical reports.
  • Knowledgeable and experienced working on State of Hawaii, Department of Health TGM, SCP, and local environmental regulation. 
  • Extensive DOD and CLEAN experience in Hawaii and Guam.
  • Proven project estimating experience, preferably environmental
  • Demonstrated experience with Client and Regulatory interactions
  • Excellent skills in written and spoken communication (including polished client presentation skills), organization, time management.
  • Field work might be required, including oversight of subcontractors.
