Job Description
THE POSITION:
- Leads a wide range of projects with a focus on biostatistics related to health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) and/or HTA including, but not limited to: Indirect comparisons (e.g., NMA, MAIC), propensity score matching (PSM) methods, RWE and/or clinical trial individual patient data (IPD) analyses, Bayesian statistical methods, and other related HTA statistical approaches
- Contributes to a variety of operational and business development initiatives, such as staffing projects, administering employee evaluations, performing hiring and capabilities presentations, and company strategy.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primary Responsibilities:
- To lead a growing group of professionals trained in biostatistics related to HEOR
As part of this primary responsibility, the following will include tasks related to this role:
People Management:
- Delegate activities to, and supervise, junior staff and contractors
- Empowering project team members to take positive action and accountability
- Identifying and resolving issues/conflicts within project teams
- Providing effective mentorship to new employees and as needed to other employees
- Administering three-month reviews, summer check-ins, and annual reviews
- Developing, administering, and monitoring performance improvement plan
Project Leadership:
- Setting project strategy and scope for a range of HEOR biostatistics project types
- Proactively managing changes in project scope and challenges
Client or Business Development:
- Leading development of proposals and delivering them to clients
- Developing own client base
- Comfortable leading all client meetings without senior support
- Supporting business development (e.g., through capabilities, repeat business)
- Seeking feedback regarding client satisfaction
Company Operations:
- Providing strategy leadership to help efficiently grow the biostatistics team
- Leading HEOR biostatistics thought leadership initiatives (e.g., white papers, publications)
- Overseeing/implementing quality control activities
- Identifying the need for and development of best practices and tools for project execution, project and employee management, and training
- Contributing to/making decisions regarding company direction, staffing, and workload
- Participating in hiring process (e.g., creating/refining job ads, reviewing applications, conducting screening and full interviews)
- Attending regular management meetings to discuss proposals, project status, staff allocation and needs, project conflicts, and other operational activities
- All other duties as assigned

EXPECTATIONS OF THE JOB:
- Travel: Some travel may be required for meeting with clients, stakeholders, or off-site personnel/management
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
- Overtime and/or weekend/evening hours may be required to meet project deadlines
Qualifications
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
The requirements listed below are representative of the experience, education, knowledge, skill and/or abilities required.
- MSc or PhD university degree in a medical- or mathematics-related field such as biology, epidemiology, pharmacology, health economics, or statistics
- 8 to 10 years of relevant work experience in health research, biostatistics, health economics, or a related field
- Strong understanding in HEOR statistics methods, including but not limited to, indirect comparisons (e.g., NMA, MAIC), propensity score matching (PSM) methods, RWE and/or clinical trial individual patient data (IPD) analyses, Bayesian statistical methods, and other related HTA statistical approaches
- Proven track record for HEOR and evidence synthesis statistical methods
- Proven ability to problem solve with strong capabilities in identifying and implementing practical and creative solutions to difficult problems
- Proven success working with a wide range of RWD projects including design, strategy, execution, and communication
- Excellent understanding and practical use of coding language, most importantly being R code (other examples: WinBugs, OpenBugs)
- Experience creating business developments and/or proposal development
- Technically competent with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong strategic, critical thinking, analytical, problem-solving, and multitasking capabilities
- Ability to lead project teams and client meetings
- Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a sometimes high-pressure environment
- Ability to adapt to shifting internal and client-related priorities/timelines
- Ability to manage personal and project team members’ time across multiple competing projects
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Ability to effectively interact and communicate with peers, senior management, and clients

- Awareness of and ability to communicate CRG’s services and offerings
- Awareness of currents trends in the fields of health economics, statistics, data analytics and evidence synthesis, and/or medical writing
