The “Repair Engineer” will be responsible from leading of repair introduction projects, from initiation to introduction into- services, on specified AEO/commercial engine module/hardware, through effective communication with global engineering resources within predefined schedule. Also will be lead or support repair development projects.

Role Overview:

  • Development of repair and inspection technologies, process qualification, industrialization. Related program deliverables to repair facilities for new and updated processes.
  • Developing conceptual knowledge of professional discipline. May include support roles with specialized expertise or technical knowledge in broad area.
  • Applies general knowledge of business developed through education or past experience. Understands how work of own team contributes to the area.
  • Resolves issues using established procedures. Consults supervisor or more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.
  • Collaborates with others to solve issues. For customer facing roles, develops strong customer relationships and serves as the interface between customer and GE Aerospace. Exchanges technical information, asks questions and checks for understanding.

The Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate has a BSc/MSc in Materials or Mechanical Engineering, experience in engineering (preferably in gas turbines), strong project management and communication skills, and expertise in aviation repair processes and quality systems

Required Qualifications:

  • BSc or MSc degree in Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Experience in engineering, either in manufacturing, repair, design and/or project management, preferably in gas turbine business.
  • Proven project management and communication skills, able to monitor project status, business issues, significant milestones and potential deviators.
  • Good level of understanding of main Aviation repair processes (Machining, Coating, Cleaning, Joining, NDT).
  • Working knowledge with Quality Systems and/or Industry Specifications/Standards. Familiarity with document hierarchy.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Ability to multi-task effectively in a result oriented, risk managing approach.
  • Proven self-starter and quick learner who can work with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication & teamwork skills.
  • Ability to read part drawings.
  • No military obligation for male candidates

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Past working experience with special processes used in aerospace part manufacturing/repair.
  • Hands-on experience with repair processes such as joining, coating, chemical processes etc.
  • Working knowledge with aviation repair documentation.
  • Past repair document substantiation experience
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
  • Possesses a lean, continuous improvement mindset.
