Shift 

Variable – must have open availability to work 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift on a rotation schedule

Essential Job Duties

• Assist with the development and implementation of all QA and Food Safety programs for the plant operations.
• Monitor all employees, through formal plant inspections or other methods, to confirm that they are comprehend and are following their duties within the guidelines of the Company QA and Food Safety programs.
• Work with Regulatory and other external personnel on inspections, investigations, and audits involving processes and products.
• Coordinate, along with other departments, the compliance of all external vendors to the Food safety standards and the removal all non-conforming ingredients or packaging.
• Monitor quality conformance on finished products, including sensory evaluations as required.
• Assist the QA Support staff to monitor and research consumer or other complaints, determine and suggested correction(s), and report out to involved management.
• Responsible for trending and other QA reports as required.
• Support the development, implementation, maintenance and ongoing improvement of the Safe Quality Foods (SQF) Food Safety & Quality.
• Performs all duties within the established Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) regulations.

Position Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a science related field (Food Science, Dairy Science or Microbiology preferred) with one (1) year related experience; or four (4) years in a lab/plant setting.
• Strong communication skills (written and oral).
• Strong analytic and computer skills.
• Quality certification (SQF, PCQI, etc.) upon hire or the ability to acquire as directed.
• Be accountable to the Turkey Hill Food Safety and Quality Principles
• Performs all duties within the established Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) regulations.
• Follow established programs, policies and practices to produce safe quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements.
• Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of Safe Quality Foods (SQF) Food Safety and Quality.
• Perform all other duties as assigned

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

• The employee is required to talk and/or hear in an office setting (noise level is low) and manufacturing setting where noise levels can be high (PPE required).
• The employee is frequently required to stand and walk in an office or manufacturing environment from 4-8+ hours.
• The employee must be able to ascend and descend stairs, and where applicable and when necessary, to perform various job-related tasks
• Must be able to position self to move, reach with arms/hands, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed to perform various job-related tasks
• The employee must be able to inspect all job-related equipment (office or floor) to ensure it is in good working condition prior to use. Must be able to use hands/fingers to handle (or feel) to operate various types of office equipment.
• Must be able to operate all job-related equipment (powered, hand or office) as required
• Vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception and adjust focus
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and/or push/pull 50 pounds on a regular or occasional basis
