SRD Overview and Mandate

Syria Relief & Development (SRD) is a non-profit organization providing humanitarian aid to Syrians affected by violence, hunger, poverty, injury, and displacement. Our mission is to provide crisis humanitarian relief and plant the seeds of sustainable development for the people of Syria. Our Vision is to maintain humanitarian relief and mobilize resources to develop a comprehensive agenda for sustainable development in Syria, SRD offices in Gaziantep, Turkey, and NW Syria.

Job Summary:

The Projects Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of projects, ensuring that deadlines are met, budgets are adhered to, and project requirements are met.

He/she will assume a leadership role within project teams, coordinate resources, and oversee communication with stakeholders.

Furthermore, the Projects Manager is responsible for ensuring that all activities within the projects align with and adhere to the Safeguarding and Prevention of Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Harassment (PSEAH) policy.

Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Collaboration and Coordination:
  • Work closely with the Program Manager and projects team to align the projects goals and expectations.
  • Coordinate with local and international NGOs, UN agencies, and stakeholders to ensure the success of SRD’s Projects.
  • Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, including scope, objectives, timelines, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate and facilitate project meetings with stakeholders and team members.
  • Clearly define roles and responsibilities for project team members.

2. Execution and Monitoring

  • Oversee the execution of project tasks, ensuring adherence to the project plan.
  • Monitor and adjust project progress to ensure successful completion.
  • Manage project resources, including personnel, budget, and materials.

3. Communication and Reporting

  • Maintain regular communication with stakeholders, providing updates on project status and developments.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports on project progress, challenges, and results.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among project team members.

4. Budget and Financial Management

  • Develop and manage project budgets to ensure that financial resources are used efficiently and in accordance with project objectives.
  • Monitor and control project expenditures to ensure alignment with the budget.

5. Team Leadership and Development

  • Recruit, in coordination with HR and senior management, and supervise projects staff.
  • Manage and motivate project team members, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Provide guidance, support, and training to team members as needed.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback for continuous improvement.

6. Representation and Initiative:

  • Represent SRD in the relevant project clusters and sub-working group.
  • Contribute to interagency initiatives.

7. Risk Management and Quality Assurance

  • Identify project risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure that all project deliverables meet established quality standards and donor expectations.
  • Apply project management best practices and methodologies.

8. Safeguarding and PSEAH Responsibilities

  • Integrate safeguarding and PSEAH policies into all project activities.
  • Implement measures to protect vulnerable populations, including children, women, and the elderly.
  • Collaborate with safeguarding focal points to resolve issues and ensure adherence to international standards.

9.Flexibility and Additional Responsibilities:

  • Maintain flexibility to take on added responsibility as needed.
  • Qualifications Requirements

  • Education:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in project management, business administration, medicine, pharmacy, or related field.
  2. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Registration Requirment: Turkish citizenship is mandatory
  • Required Work Experience
  1. Experience: At least 5 years of project management experience, with a minimum of 2 years in the health sector.
  2. Experience in I/NGOs is essential.

  4. Ability to work under limited supervision; self-motivated, well-organized, and results-driven; communicates effectively and positively with both internal and external stakeholders;
  5. Ability to manage stress and meet competing priorities in a timely manner, producing high-quality outcomes;
  6. Strong organizational, multitasking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  7. Knowledge of safeguarding and PSEAH principles and practices.
  8. Knowledge of data management and reporting systems.
  9. Competency in the use of office suites, including Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
  10. Commitment to the mission and values of the SRD.
  11. Proficient in English and Arabic (writing –reading –speaking) – Turkish is desired.
  • Working Conditions:

  • Traveling to field site upon needed
