YOUR IMPACT

As a Principal Presales Consultant supporting the Canadian Federal Government, you will act as a strategic business advisor and AI evangelist, helping departments and agencies reimagine how they manage information, make decisions, and deliver services in the era of artificial intelligence. You’ll combine your business acumen, technical expertise, and storytelling ability to guide clients on their digital transformation journey — demonstrating how OpenText solutions create measurable value and resilience for the public sector.

This is not a typical presales role. You’ll have the opportunity to influence key stakeholders, architect cutting-edge solutions, and shape the future of information management across Canada’s federal landscape.

WHAT THE ROLE OFFERS

• Act as a Strategic Business Advisor: Build credibility and strong relationships with technical and executive stakeholders within the Federal Government, becoming their trusted advisor for information management and digital transformation strategy.
• Lead with Business Value: Conduct deep-dive discovery sessions to thoroughly understand the unique business challenges, functional needs, and operational processes of each client. Architect solutions that directly address these challenges and articulate a clear vision of business value and return on investment.
• Evangelize AI-Powered Solutions: Serve as an expert on the practical application of AI in the enterprise. Deliver compelling presentations and demonstrations that educate clients on how to harness AI to drive smarter decisions and operational efficiency.
• Architect Innovative Solutions: Own the technical solution design from start to finish. Analyze complex requirements, design elegant and effective solutions using the breadth of the OpenText portfolio, and secure the “technical win” for major opportunities.
• Drive the Sales Cycle: Collaborate seamlessly with a multidisciplinary virtual team—including sales, partners, engineering, and professional services—to drive revenue growth and ensure customer success.

Core Competencies & Soft Skills:

• Deep Business Acumen: A passion for understanding customer use cases, business challenges, and industry-specific processes. Proven ability to connect technology solutions with tangible business outcomes and ROI.
• Consultative Mindset: You lead with curiosity, listen intently to customer needs, and excel at asking the right questions to uncover underlying challenges.
• Superior Communication: Eloquent and convincing bilingual (English and French) communication and presentation skills are essential.
• Analytical Problem-Solver: Strong analytical abilities and a solutions-driven mindset, capable of designing creative, innovative solutions for complex problems.
• Collaborative Team Player: You thrive in a highly collaborative environment and have experience leading virtual teams to achieve a common goal.

Technical Skills & Experience:

• Experience: 8+ years of relevant experience in a customer-facing role such as presales, solution consulting, or solution architecture, preferably with experience serving the Canadian Federal Government.
• AI Evangelism: A strong understanding of AI and Machine Learning solutions with a demonstrated ability to evangelize their application to solve business problems and drive innovation.
• Technical Breadth: A deep understanding of the IT landscape, particularly with Information Management platforms (e.g., OpenText, Microsoft 365), process automation, and data security.
• Cybersecurity Knowledge: A good understanding of the cyber threat landscape and familiarity with solutions related to Application Security, Security Operations, Identity and Access Management, and Data Security.
• Cloud Proficiency: Competency with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is required.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is preferred.
