Role Description

The Medical Manager plays a pivotal role as a “Scientific Partner” in shaping the medical strategy of the company. The role involves acting as a credible and trusted advisor to internal departments (Marketing, Sales, Regulatory Affairs, Market Access and other related departments) and external stakeholders such as Health Care Professionals (HCPs) and their societies, TITCK, SGK, and other related organizations. The Medical Manager is responsible for ensuring that all medical and promotional activities are in full compliance with local regulations, industry ethical standards, and global standards, while managing scientific excellence and product safety throughout the product lifecycle. The responsibilities of this role will primarily be carried out at headquarters, and in the field when necessary.

Responsibilities

Scientific Strategy, Business Development (BD), and Innovation Management:

  • Develop annual medical plans for the assigned therapeutic area and serve as the scientific reference point for strategic commercial and business decisions.
  • Conduct medical risk and opportunity analyses for new and innovative products from the Business Development portfolio and manage medical pre-launch readiness processes.
  • Maintain the scientific value of the established product portfolio within the therapeutic area through updated clinical data and provide medical support for market positioning.
  • Closely monitor scientific developments and competitor activities within the therapeutic area and translate these insights into organizational strategy.

Science Service and Promotional Review Processes:

  • Guide the development of and provide medical approval for all scientific and promotional materials to ensure they are accurate, evidence-based, compliant with ethical standards, non-misleading, and in accordance with the authorized Summary of Product Characteristics (SmPC).
  • Monitor the currency of data used in promotional materials; notify commercial units immediately of new medical information to update materials, and coordinate with Marketing to retire materials when necessary.
  • Oversee the regulatory compliance of all promotional activities as part of “Science Service” responsibilities such as maintain an archive of sample materials and Science Service notifications for the needed legal period.

Field Force Training and Medical Competency Development:

  • Provide comprehensive and regular medical training to Medical Sales Representatives on disease states, therapeutic areas, and on-label indications of products.
  • Continuously update training materials in line with evolving scientific data and monitor/document the medical competency levels of the field force.

Medical Information and Pharmacovigilance Support:

  • Medical Information Source: Work in alignment with the Medical Information unit to provide timely, ethical, unbiased, and balanced scientific responses to medical inquiries from healthcare professionals.
  • Product Safety and Monitoring Management: Support the PV department by following up on adverse event reports and responding to safety-related inquiries from physicians.

Stakeholder Management and Evidence Generation:

  • Develop long-term ethical scientific relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), Therapeutic Area Experts (TAEs), and decision-makers; manage Medical Advisory Boards and participate in Marketing Advisory Boards.
  • Coordinate local or global clinical trials and contribute to evidence generation, scientific publications, and congress materials.

Qualifications

  • Pharma industry experience is preferred
  • Degree in Medicine, Pharmacy, or Dentistry
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in Turkish & English
  • High learning agility and the ability to analyze and convey complex scientific data. Ability to work in a fast paced and growing organization and deliver quick wins as well as future vision and roadmaps.
  • Advanced proficiency in written and spoken English and Turkish.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications, digital channels and Artificial Intelligence tools to enhance medical processes.
  • Candidates must be willing and able to travel.
