Title: Knowledge Management Specialist
Period of Assignment: as soon as possible – until 31.08.2027
Location: Ankara
Project: Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) for Syrian Refugees and Residents of Host Communities in Türkiye Project
A. Main Activities
- Designs and maintains a consistent and user-oriented knowledge management system on SharePoint ensuring alignment with GIZ corporate KM standards.
- Coordinates the documentation, version control, and archiving procedures with the team.
- Coordinates the implementation and further development of the project’s knowledge management and communication plan in cooperation with the team and the communication officer in the country office.
- Ensures that approaches, experiences, and lessons learned from the project implementation are systematically composed as best practices and methodologies to be benefitted as transferable knowledge products, considering a gender perspective according to the project’s overall orientation on gender- responsive MHPSS services.
- Ensures structured documentation through standardised templates, guidelines, or checklists.
- Initiates and follows-up regular reflection meetings with the team to evaluate and improve the project’s knowledge management.
- Coordinates the timely processing of concepts, guidelines, reports, and other knowledge products produced in the project, e.g. translation, proofreading, design, printing, digital processing, with the team, the country office and consultants, incl. preparing ToRs for procurement processes.
- Coordinates the content development and prepares content for printing, digital, and social media formats, e.g. stories, articles, videos.
- Develops dashboards and visualization tools to communicate project progress.
- Supports the organisation, incl. logistical preparation of lessons learned workshops, trainings and other events with partners, documents and follows-up the results.
- Coordinates administrative and procurement related project requirements with the colleagues in the service unit of GIZ-Türkiye
Other duties
- Supports the development and quality assurance of technical concepts, guidelines, or ToR in coordination with the responsible MHPSS experts.
- Performs other tasks assigned by the supervisor that are consistent with the position’s objectives.

B. Required qualifications, competencies, and experience
Education/Qualifications
- University degree in Psychology or Social Sciences or in a relevant field
Professional experience
- 5 years’ work experience in projects in the context of forced displacement and migration, 2 years in the topic of MHPSS or protection
- 5 years of work experience in knowledge management and/or MEAL and/or communication
- 2 years’ experience in the preparation, processing and communication of knowledge and visibility products
- Proven experience in preparing technical documents for tendering processes in international development organisations
- Proven work experience in using digital tools to process and visualise project results
Other knowledge, additional competencies
- Excellent command of MS Office
- Excellent conceptual and writing skills
- Profound digital skills
- Full proficiency in Turkish and English is a must, and Arabic would be considered as a strong asset
- Ability to attentively and carefully follow rules and procedures in administration and documentation
- Creativity
- Good team player
