Calderys
The Hub Director oversees all operations at the Haznedar Durer site, ensuring top performance in safety, production, quality, and cost efficiency. The role drives continuous improvement, asset reliability, and organizational capability while delivering reliable customer service and aligning the site with Calderys’ strategic objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Safety, Health & Environment Leadership
- Drive a zero-incident culture, ensuring full compliance with Calderys EHS standards and local legislation.
- Deploy mandatory EHS programs (risk assessments, machine safety validation, occupational hygiene, audits).
- Strengthen behavioral safety and housekeeping discipline, ensuring high shop-floor presence.
- Ensure the site meets ISO 14001 & 50001 requirements and continuously improves sustainability metrics.
- Production, Quality & Process Performance
- Deliver production volumes in line with demand and customer commitments.
- Ensure robust process control, reduction of variability, and scrap reduction.
- Improve key KPIs: OEE, yield, throughput, capacity utilization, energy efficiency.
- Ensure products meet ISO 9001 and internal quality specifications.
- Lead root-cause problem solving for recurring quality and process deviations.
- Maintenance & Asset Care
- Implement a reliability-based maintenance strategy (Preventive, Predictive, and Autonomous Maintenance).
- Improve equipment availability and reduce unplanned downtime.
- Develop long-term asset care plans aligned with CAPEX strategy.
- OPEX, Performance Improvement & Cost Leadership
- Lead the site’s OPEX roadmap, including Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, VSM, and Calderys Excellence systems.
- Achieve measurable reductions in conversion cost, energy consumption, and process waste.
- Implement a culture of daily management and performance routines (SQDCP boards, Tier meetings).
- Ensure strict adherence to annual operating budgets and monthly cost tracking.
- Planning, Logistics & Delivery Performance
- Align production planning, labor allocation, and asset availability to achieve optimal delivery time.
- Improve OTIF (On-Time In-Full) and stock accuracy.
- Ensure supplier reliability for raw materials and manage cost, quality, and availability risks.
- Finance, Budgeting & Reporting
- Build, deploy, and control the annual budget for the entire site.
- Control daily production costs and react quickly to variances.
- Provide weekly and monthly reporting on:
- Operational performance
- Quality deviations
- Production planning
- Staffing and recruitment needs
7. People Leadership, Culture & Organization Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop the site’s leadership team (Production, Maintenance, Quality, EHS, OPEX, Supply Chain).
- Strengthen accountability, ownership, and teamwork.
- Build competencies to support the transformation: problem-solving, performance mindset, cross-functional collaboration.
- Manage disciplinary actions when required, ensuring fairness and compliance.
- Promote a culture of respect, transparency, engagement, and continuous improvement.
8. Strategic Projects, CAPEX & Long-Term Competitiveness
- Identify CAPEX needs to improve capacity, safety, sustainability, and efficiency.
- Lead or sponsor major investment projects.
- Contribute to the long-term strategic roadmap of the Haznedar Durer site.
Requirements:
Education & Experience
- Engineering degree (Industrial, Mechanical, Process, Chemical, or equivalent).
- 15 years of experience in an industrial environment, ideally within heavy industry, refractory, ceramics, cement, mining, or metallurgy.
- Proven track record managing large operational teams (100+ employees).
- Experience in transformation and turn-around environments is a strong advantage.
Technical Skills
- Solid expertise across all Operational pillars:
- Safety, Production, Quality, Process, Maintenance, OPEX, Supply Chain, CAPEX.
- Strong command of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong financial and analytical skills (budgeting, cost optimization, KPI management).
- Fluent English & Turkish mandatory; German is a plus.
