Job Description

Ensure the smooth operation of information and message, mail, luggage and transport with high level of quality and maximum courtesy.

  • Assigns, supervises and controls the activities of the Concierge staff.
  • Fulfils all requests for information and services such as entertainment, transportation, sightseeing and excursions. Makes sure that all employees are supplied with all resources necessary to respond the inquiries.
  • Regularly updates employees with regards to information concerning the hotel services, VIP s and daily functions for them to be well informed.
  • Maintains accurate information with regards to shops and opening closing times, local attractions, transportation, flight information, restaurants and other relevant details.
  • Ensures adequate stock of necessary guest stationary, brochures, leaflets, and promotional items.
  • Controls plans and gives guidance for luggage service carried out for the guests for maximum efficiency.
  • Establishes an efficient system for loading, unloading, collection, delivery, of guest luggage including safe storage for short and long term.
  • Takes responsibility of luggage registration.
  • Takes responsibility for all the equipment used in his department such as luggage trolleys, computers etc.
  • Be acquainted with all the facilities offered by the hotel including in room facilities.
  • Encourages promotion of hotel services by employees as appropriate.
  • Oversees the lobby area and main entrance to ensure cleanliness and tidiness at all times.
  • Controls access to the hotel and parking arrangements including valet parking and ensures that access road to main entrance is clear of traffic at all times.
  • Supervises distribution of mail, parcels, messages and faxes to guests and offices, also redirection of the mail for the departed guests.
  • Supervises dispatch of fax and messages in the absence of switchboard operators.
  • Ensures the correct charging for payable services extended by the concierge to the guests.
  • In collaboration with security, provides the required control of main entrance to the hotel.
  • Investigates and follows up on guest complaints and takes remedial action for those not to be repeated.
  • Handles guest complaints on the spot.
  • Is fully responsible for the departmental induction for all the staff and provides ongoing on the job training to achieve required standards.
  • Prepares work schedule and vacation schedule for the department.
  • Carries out inspections for the purpose of maintaining high standards of appearance, hygiene and staff relations.
  • Ensures that function board is updated daily and correctly.
  • Is fully responsible for the Flags.
  • Is fully responsible of the Limousine Department
  • Knows and follows the fire and safety regulations of the hotel.
  • Performs other duties assigned by his/her supervisor.

Qualifications

The qualifications are:

  • University degree preferably Tourism & Hotel Management,
  • Good command of English
  • At least 2+ years of Head Concierge experience in luxury hotel management.
