Human Appeal is a faith-based charity that aims to abolish poverty by providing humanitarian aid, sustainable development programs and championing advocacy for our beneficiaries worldwide. Human Appeal has seven International Field Offices across the globe.
About the Position

Main Job Purpose
- To support the development and maintenance industry-leading websites and software applications that are fit for purpose
- Working collaboratively with online, campaigns, and marketing and other specialist teams, stakeholder delivery, as well as working directly with the stakeholders where needed. To analyse business requirements and internal design as well as develop system requirements. To develop structured clean reusable code.
- To focus on the quality and best technical approach to support the overall delivery of human appeal websites in line with overall organisational strategy and objectives.
Note: This role is for Turkish Nationals only.
Accountabilities
Technical Support
- To be involved at all stages of the development life cycle: via initial analysis, implementation, integration, testing, debugging and support. In order to maintain oversight and delivery.
- To work collaboratively with the project manager through completion of assigned tasks to make sure that all aspects of the project are delivered as planned.
- Mitigate against potential technical risks by raising issues/concerns in order to safeguard project delivery.
Systems and information architecture
- To consider systems performance requirements by getting advice from the project technical lead when making specific determinations relating to system performance requirements to create fit for purpose systems.
- To work with the web designers, marketing and creative specialists via proactive consultation to understand the design concept, and advise how it can be implemented technically within constraints.
- To design, maintain and build solutions in a manner that enables different technical teams to work together in an efficient manner.
Software development
- To be aware of the latest software development technologies and methodologies, through research and networking in order to safeguard against the latest threats and remain competitive with the market.
- To write clean, well-structured and well documented code by adopting best practice to deliver code which is well-tested and consistently error free.
- To support the design and build of database schemata with integrity and scalability, with data access layers that are optimised for performance and security.
- To make sensible decisions when working on, reviewing and auditing legacy code to ensure maintainability of code.
Communication and problem solving
- To participate in an innovative culture by promoting new ideas or opportunities within the team to remain competitive and save costs.
- To contribute regularly to discussions regarding internal process and system improvements in order to ensure maximum efficiency across the organisation, including suggesting technical solutions to problems.
Company best Practice
- To work collaboratively with other HA teams and provide technical input into how all HA’s services can be delivered and improved.
- To be aware of latest data protection and security threats by adhering to known industry standards to ensure HA mitigate against these risks.
- To efficiently manage workload by maintaining oversight of all project tasks to ensure project millstones are met.
- Provide training in using different website components/functions to create in-house capabilities in order to maintain website.

Job Requirements
Education:
- Computer Science graduate or equivalent
OR,
- Boot camp graduate
OR
- Self taught programmer with relevant experience and proven track record
Experience:
- 0-2 years’ experience in the relevant field.
Computer Skills:
- Proficient IT skills, MS Office Suite
- Programming skills
Languages:
- Excellent written and spoken English. Additional languages are a bonus
