As an Accountant at Arup, you will:

• Accounting and reporting of accounts payable, as well as managing and analyzing the financial outcomes of the purchasing process,
• Providing direct support to the finance manager and assisting in the oversight of daily operations,
• Performing and reviewing month-end balance sheet account reconciliation and analyses,
• Collaborating with the finance leader and various disciplines on assigned projects to review processes,
• Assisting in forecasting and budgeting process,
• Conducts comprehensive financial analysis of business operations and prepares management reports,
• Ensure AP accounts and intercompany invoices match supporting documents (POs, contracts, agreements) as required by statutory and corporate guidelines,
• Participates in cash-flow management processes, including weekly payments and monthly intercompany payments, in coordination with the central treasury team as needed,
• Coordination with banks in conjunction with the finance lead,
• Conducts the month-end closing procedures and ensures reporting and analysis are completed promptly. Prepares monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts,
• Prepares ad hoc reports required either internally or externally; supports internal/external audits.

• A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field is required,
• CPA certification is preferred,
• Minimum 5 years of experience in general or accounts payable accounting,
• Proficient in general accounting principles, the uniform chart of accounts, and Turkish tax legislation,
• Excellent verbal and written communication in Turkish and English,
• Experienced with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and others,
• Proficient in LOGO or similar ERP/application,
• Excellent communication and analytical skills,
• Capable of working in environments with face-paced activity and strict legal deadlines,
• Able to prioritize, organize and complete multiple task with different deadlines at the same time,
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
