A Big Data Software Engineer in Insider day in and day out:
- designs and builds an end-to-end, high-performance, scalable machine learning infrastructure by leveraging various AWS technologies and open source libraries,
- identifies and evaluates new technologies to improve the performance, maintainability and elegance of our machine learning systems,
- designs software architecture and data flows for scalable machine learning development,
- collaborates with data scientists to understand, implement, improve and design machine learning and other algorithms,
- participates in feature engineering and determines data requirements for different models,
- controls the life cycle of production data and uses raw clickstream data to make it machine learning ready
We want you to join us while we are taking a step into the future if you:
- graduated from Computer Engineering or a similar department,
- have strong computer science fundamentals and programming skills,
- know Python, Scala / Java,
- have experience working with distributed computing technologies such as Spark, Hive, Hadoop,
- have strong SQL skills, including query optimization on complex data sets,
- have experience with NoSQL databases such as Elasticsearch, Cassandra / ScyllaDB, Redis,
- know how to develop or manage event-oriented architecture or microservices,
- have 1+ years of experience in software development,
- are familiar with software development lifecycle best practices, (Agile Methodologies, Coding Standards, Code Reviews, Resource Management, Development Processes, Testing and Operations)
- have experience developing microservices using Scala and Akka,
- have experience working with modern cloud-native paradigms and technologies such as Kubernetes, Service Mesh, CI / CD and IaC,
- have advanced English skills,
- have experience with recommendation systems and machine learning platforms,
- have experience consulting young Big Data Software engineers to develop their skills and make them better engineers
