Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

• Develop and lead end-to-end logistics solutions to achieve required on-time pick up & delivery of goods. Manage Logistics Costs to meet budgets and Op Plans.
• Developing specialized knowledge in their discipline. Serves as best practice/quality resource. Has awareness of latest technical developments in own area. Contributes towards strategy and policy development, and ensure delivery within area of responsibility.
• Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
• Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.
• Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.

Responsibilities in Details

At Tendering stage

• Support definition of the technical solutions (needs definition, scheme, solutions…),
• Validate Project’s Transportation & Logistics budget estimate for workload and storage, under the responsibility of ITO Sourcing organization.
• Propose R&O analysis & action plan for its scope of work,

At Execution stage

• Prepare Transport & Logistics (T&L) Directives document for each project, with the support of needed functions such as Project Director, (PD) Project Fulfillment Leader (LD) Project, customs expert, tax expert, including all logistics activities in his scope (packing, transport, warehouse, customs, load…).
• Support Logistics Center Of Excellence (LCOE) and control performance through KPIs
• Ensure hand-over to Logistics operations (directives, budgets, scheme, R&O…),
• Support Transport Specialist operations.
• Support Global Sourcing for internal and external audits.

In his/her overall activities

• Provide support to the Global Logistics Leader in defining and/or updating logistics processes, tools, KPIs & strategy,
• Support logistics operation teams when required, sharing their expertise & knowledge to promote empowerment.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor degree from accredited university or college, preferably in in Supply Chain.
• Minimum 10 years experiences in Logistics, Transportation, Customs and International Trade.
• Good level of English (Speaking, Reading and Writing).
• Experience in ERP and WMS or TMS tools.
• Experience in Warehousing/Packing/Handling/Lashing.

Desired Characteristics

• Knowledge of GE Renewable Energy, or other relevant industries.
• Knowledge in Supply Chain Management
• Knowledge of the domestic environment, roles and regulation in Turkey.
• Knowledge of the international environment, EMEA region.
