Turkish Cuisine Butcher/ Meat Cutter

Term of Employment: 2-year position with the possibility of extension

Hours of Work: Full-time, around 35 hours/week

Education: No degree, certificate or diploma

Experience: Must have a minimum of three to five years of experience in meat cutting

Koz Bingol Restaurantis a Canadian company that provides an authentic Turkish culinary experience, using traditional Turkish recipes and fresh ingredients.

Koz Bingol Restaurant, located at 6255 Bathurst Street, Toronto, ON, M2R 2A5, is currently looking to hire one (1) experienced full-time in-house Butcher. The Butcher will be primarily responsible for preparing standard cuts of meat following halal method.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Receive, inspect, and store meat upon delivery;

· Cut, bone, or grind pieces of meat;

· Weigh, wrap, and display cuts of meat;

· Cut or prepare meats to specification or customer’s orders;

· Store meats in refrigerators or freezers at the required temperature;

· Keep inventory of meat sales, order meat supplies, maintain records of determine, amount, product line and freshness of products;

· Clean and sharpen equipment and work areas to maintain health and sanitation standards;

· Follow sanitation standards when cleaning equipment, countertops, and working areas in order to prevent meat contamination;

· Achieving a safe and clean working environment for personnel through safety awareness and training, well-maintained equipment, and sanitation conditions that exceed government standards.

Requirements

· Must have a minimum of three to five years of experience in meat cutting following the halal method;

· Have deep knowledge of halal slaughter;

· Customer service-driven;

· Good product knowledge and attention to detail
