We are currently seeking a new team member. You will be our first employee in Turkey. This position has a strong potential for growth. The Turkish agriculture programs are currently big, with strong growth forecasted for the future with several schemes, project and tailored solutions and innovation.

The Agriculture Specialist will serve as Lead Auditor and Task Manager with a focus on Sustainable Agriculture services. This person will coordinate client portfolios and conduct audits for Preferred by Nature’s agriculture services, including audit scheduling, on-site visits, report writing, quality control, Stakeholders´ networking, and delivery of customer service.

More specifically, your responsibilities will include:
Coordinate and conduct certification services, including onsite audit fieldwork and desk evaluations, with a primary focus on Preferred by Nature’s Rainforest Alliance Sustainable Agriculture services and UEBT Union for Ethical Biotrade, at both farm and supply chain (CoC) level.

Coordinate audit logistics and travel arrangements to conduct assigned fieldwork.

Provide customer service to current and potential clients, including providing information about certification and the audit process.

Coordinate and conduct activities related to other certification

Verification for other existing and future services in PbyN´s portfolio

Support sales and marketing functions for Preferred by Nature services in the region.

Support regional management with special projects, new service development, complaints and appeals processes, and stakeholder relations.

Reporting.

Professional requirements

College degree and/or equivalent (4-year degree) in Agriculture sciences, Biology, Environmental and/or Social sciences.

At least 3 years in a similar role, or 5 years of experience in the relevant field.

Previous auditing experience with relevant schemes (RA, UEBT, SRP, Global GAP, CAFÉ Practices, similar) is preferred.

Experience working on/with agriculture farms, at different level, medium to big size companies and smallholders.

Experience working with agriculture supply chain actors.

Fluency in Turkish and English (our organisational language) is essential, spoken as well as written.

Proficient user of the MS Office package and good general knowledge of administrative IT systems.

B-category driver’s license

Personnel requirements

You are willing to travel approximately 80% of your worktime within Turkey during the first year, then during next year also other countries in Southeast Europe.

You have a high level of integrity and business ethics, to strike the balance between serving clients and at the same time not compromising your role as an auditor.

You possess a high level of self-discipline, and the ability to organise and manage yourself and your time.

You are comfortable making independent decisions, as the nature of the job requires you to work independently, often remotely from your colleagues.

You are comfortable communicating frequently with colleagues around the world via Skype/Microsoft Teams and email.

You are a constructive team-player and have an open attitude towards other cultures, as we collaborate across borders in our organisation.

You believe in Preferred by Nature’s vision and mission and want to contribute to fulfilling it.

Position details

Work time: 40 hours/week

The position reports to Agriculture Director, based in Spain

Working location: home office

Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience

Expected starting date: as soon as possible
