The Role:

It will be the task of the Operations Manager to support the staff and maintain continuity and sustainability of the business whilst delivering on growth opportunities. Critical to the role is the engagement with, and care of staff resources. Due to the position requiring engagement with the wide geographical spread of Stantec offices and business in Turkey and the wider region, the role will require someone comfortable in travelling on a regular basis. The successful candidate will be based in our Istanbul office.

The role holder will be working alongside our Middle East Management Team, reporting directly to Dr. Murat Sarioglu, Operations Director.

The Profile:

Applications from exceptional candidates with leadership experience in a Management role in the Consulting engineering business within our sectors will be well received.

Demonstrating a proven track record in managing teams within multisite operations, the ideal candidate is expected to bring a very good reputation and evident passion in the areas of: Strategic Consultancy, International Development, Green Energy, Waste & Water engineering, Infrastructure, Process Engineering and Environmental & Sustainability Projects. Committed to exceptional client service management/improvement, the candidate will be expected to grow Stantec business while sustaining existing commitments.

Core Competencies:

Knowledge:

• Thorough and compelling understanding of Stantec Turkey Sectors, including but not limited to an awareness of: Opportunities, market needs, current and emerging issues and their future implications to business.

• Knowledge of “International Development” business serving Multilateral Donor Banks (MDB) and International Financing Institutions (IFIs) such as EBRD, EC, World Bank, Asian Development Bank, European Investment Bank…etc.

• This knowledgebase should be augmented by a proven ability to select, assimilate, and action new ideas, from theory to successful end product delivery.

Experience:

• Minimum 20 years’ professional working experience.

• Verifiable track record in profitable, effective business management and development: Preferably in a private organization.

• A candidate with a high profile background in our Sector (Committee chairmanship, articles, lectures, or awards) would be advantageous.

• Experience working with International Financing Institutions.

Skills:

• Fluent in English (writing, speaking and reading).

• Strong leadership and delegation skills.

• Strong Client Service Management capabilities.

• Skilled in developing client relationships and network building.

• Adept in interpersonal and group communications.

• Exceptional ethical standards and full operating compliance with Stantec.

• Good understanding of commercial aspects of the business.

• Good understanding of Project management.

• Talented problem solver.

• Able to not just motivate but inspire!

• Collaborative, relationship builder, within Stantec Turkey and other parts of the organization.

• Hungry for success, possessing the energy, drive and ability to change pace quickly.

The candidate is required to have as a minimum Bachelor of Science degree in Civil/Environmental/Mechanical Engineering. Having an MBA degree will be highly preferred.
