Roles and Responsibilities
- Identify hazards for all high risks activities, assess the risks and define control measures with site management
- Support supervisors to communicate risk assessments and method statements down to the workers level
- Monitor applicable health and safety regulations and ensure Unit’s compliance with local regulations
- Identify health and safety training needs for the unit in coordination with HR
- Define and organize entry of personnel, vehicles, plants and machineries by thorough inspection of their documents and issue of necessary permit.
- Carry out health and safety inspections and advise site management for improvement of safety health and environment
- Control necessary PPEs are provided and worn
- Participate management system internal audit and support lead auditor
- Ensure safety inductions for all new entry and safety training when required
- Make sure toolbox talks are performed.
- Support local sourcing regarding selection competent contractor
- Conduct periodical health and safety coordination meetings with contractors and raise important issues to unit management.
- Follow up and assess contractor performance after completion of the work.
- Report immediately and investigate all environmental, health and safety events to a suitable level depending upon the severity or potential severity
- Plan safety visits for frontline management and follow-up observations
- Investigate environmental, health and safety events and implement lessons learnt
- Understanding and supporting the unit regarding fire safety and loss prevention
- Manage permit to work process for all non-routine operation
- Execute industrial hygiene measurement and maintain compliance
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- Technical background (to understand manufacturing activities)
- At least B level H&S Certificate given by Turkish Authority
- NEBOSH or IOSH Certificate or equivalent preferable
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in environmental, health and safety function
- English both spoken and written for working proficiency
