Role Purpose

The Compliance Officer will support the implementation and continuous enhancement of the Group’s compliance framework, working closely with the Chief Legal & Compliance Officer EMME and the EMME Compliance team. The role will ensure that the company’s operations, policies, and practices comply with applicable laws, regulations, and Group compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and monitor Group policies and procedures relating to compliance, anti-corruption, sanctions, and export controls, ensuring effective adoption across all relevant entities and functions.
  • Monitor business activities to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, decrees, and internal policies.
  • Support the effective communication, implementation, and monitoring of PCA and other Group compliance programs across all entities.
  • Provide practical and timely compliance advice to management and business stakeholders, supported by clear and detailed reports and recommendations.
  • Identify compliance gaps and develop, implement, and monitor effective remediation and action plans arising from audits, investigations, and compliance violations.
  • Conduct compliance risk assessments of business operations and recommend appropriate mitigation measures and controls.
  • Develop and deliver compliance awareness and training programs to ensure employees understand relevant regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Act as a trusted point of contact for employees and management on compliance-related questions and concerns.
  • Collaborate closely with the EMME and Group Compliance teams on compliance initiatives, risk assessments, audits, investigations, and continuous improvement of the compliance framework.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Law degree from a reputable university.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in a compliance, legal, or regulatory environment.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable laws and regulations relating to corporate compliance, anti-corruption, sanctions, export controls, and regulatory risk.
  • Solid legal background with the ability to interpret complex legislation and translate requirements into practical business solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with senior management and diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • High level of integrity, independence, sound judgment, and professional discretion.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multinational environment and collaborate with regional and global stakeholders.
