Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international, independent medical humanitarian organisation

We provide medical assistance to people affected by conflict, epidemics, disasters, or exclusion from healthcare. Our teams are made up of tens of thousands of health professionals, logistics and administrative staff – most of them hired locally. Our actions are guided by medical ethics and the principles of impartiality, independence and neutrality.

 

Human Resources professionals analyze and monitor HR needs in order to have the required resources. They take care of the day-to-day running of the project, from payroll to managing the international staff compound. They manage all local staff from start to end of contract, overseeing compliance with internal regulations and local employment legislation.

 

Tasks & Duties

  • Define, plan and supervise the implementation of MSF HR policies
  • Support and facilitate the project human resources management in recruitment, performance appraisal, staff development and training
  • Support both international and local staff regarding human resources administration (e.g. payroll, benefits, contracts, databases, facilitation of work permits, visas, travel, etc.)
  • Liaise with local authorities and service providers in relation to all project human resources issues, employee relations and local labour laws

 

Essential requirements

  • University degree or preferably Master’s degree in HR management or Business
  • Minimum of two years relevant professional experience
  • Fluency in English
  • Advanced Computer literacy

 

Desirable requirements

  • Experience in revising salary grids and implementation of other HR projects
  • Professional experience supervising, managing or training staff
  • Knowledge of other languages, in particular French and/or Arabic
  • Previous international experience with INGOs, UN agencies, other humanitarian organisations, charities, etc.
  • Experience working in developing countries
