Background
Sened, is an independent non-profit organization established and registered in Türkiye (under No: 27-15-175) in 2013.
- The name “Sened” in Arabic means “support” you could count on.
- Sened, was founded in response to The Syrian catastrophe, which led to critical situations and displacement of internally displaced people (IDPs) within Syria. The individuals who faced hardships due to factors such as repression, human rights abuses, and violence against civilians (including bombings, shelling, and sieges) and the urgent needs of millions of Syrian refugees in Türkiye. Later, our projects expanded to include support for the Turkish hosting community of the Syrian refugees. Our work spans across humanitarian sectors, with a special focus on advocating for the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities (PwDs) and their families.

Job purpose
The Community Mobilization Facilitator is responsible for leading structured outreach, community mobilization, and non-formal education (NFE) activities to ensure that vulnerable individuals and groups are effectively identified, informed, and connected to available services. The role focuses on strengthening community awareness, improving access to protection and support services, and promoting inclusive participation in project activities through well-designed and participatory NFE sessions.
The position plays a critical role in bridging the gap between the project and the community by building trust, maintaining continuous engagement with community members and leaders, and ensuring that community needs, concerns, and feedback are systematically captured and communicated to the project team.
Through proactive field presence, the facilitator delivers and adapts NFE activities in line with community needs, supports early identification of risks and vulnerabilities, contributes to safe and ethical referral pathways, and ensures that all activities are implemented in a culturally sensitive, gender-responsive, and disability-inclusive manner. The role also contributes to the effectiveness and accountability of the project by ensuring accurate documentation, timely reporting, and adherence to organizational and donor requirements.
Duties, Objectives, Competencies
- Conduct community outreach and mobilization activities in targeted areas
- Identify vulnerable individuals and groups and ensure appropriate referrals
- Facilitate awareness sessions on protection, available services, and rights
- Support community participation in project activities and feedback mechanisms
- Maintain regular communication with community leaders and stakeholders
- Collect basic field data and report community needs and trends
- Support organization of community meetings and outreach events
- Ensure accurate documentation of field activities and attendance
Additional Responsibilities
- Provide individual guidance and information sessions when needed Support field-level coordination and activity organization
- Support referral pathways and case identification processes
- Assist in distribution of information materials and visibility activities
- Contribute to safe and inclusive community engagement practices
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Education, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in community-based activities, outreach, or humanitarian field work
- Experience working with vulnerable populations (refugees, host communities, persons with disabilities, etc.)
- Basic understanding of protection principles and referral pathways
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to conduct field visits and community outreach activities
- Basic reporting and documentation skills
- Knowledge of Turkish and Arabic
- Willingness to travel within field locations (up to 30%)
Desired Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience working in NGO/INGO settings.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in PSS activities.
- Knowledge of protection and referral systems.
- Proficiency in Turkish and Arabic (minimum B1 level, written and spoken). English is an asset.
- Experience working in south and south east Turkiye
Technical Competencies
- Strong community engagement and outreach skills

- Basic knowledge of project implementation processes
- MS Office proficiency
