Four Seasons Hotel Istanbul at the Bosphorus is seeking an experienced, strategic, and results-driven Director of Spa to lead and oversee The Spa, Fitness Center, Pools, and Hotel Retail Shops.

In this senior leadership role, you will be fully accountable for people leadership, operational excellence, guest satisfaction, and financial performance. You will set the vision, standards, and commercial direction of the Spa operation while ensuring alignment with Four Seasons culture, values, and the Golden Rule.

This role requires a hands-on leader who understands luxury wellness operations, drives revenue growth, anticipates industry trends, and consistently delivers exceptional guest experiences.

What you will do:

People Leadership

  • Lead, manage, and develop all Spa and Fitness Club colleagues, ensuring high performance, engagement, and professional growth.
  • Recruit, interview, train, schedule, evaluate, and discipline team members in line with company standards and local regulations.
  • Establish clear expectations, provide regular feedback, and maintain high morale, productivity, and service culture.
  • Act as a trusted leader and objective mediator in conflict resolution, grievance handling, and counseling situations.
  • Collaborate closely with the Training Manager to ensure all Spa and Fitness team members are trained to brand and operational standards.
  • Participate actively in managerial development programs and succession planning initiatives.
  • Ensure full compliance with health, safety, emergency, and confidentiality requirements at all times.

Product & Operations

  • Oversee daily operations of The Spa, Fitness Center, Pools, and Retail Shops, ensuring consistency with brand philosophy, policies, and objectives.
  • Ensure all treatments, facilities, equipment, and amenities meet luxury standards and are properly maintained.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve Spa concepts, treatments, packages, and operational manuals.
  • Monitor cleanliness and coordinate closely with Housekeeping, Laundry, and Engineering teams.
  • Anticipate operational needs, manage inventory, and ensure timely availability of all materials and supplies.
  • Review guest feedback, complaints, and suggestions, taking corrective action where required.
  • Integrate Spa operations seamlessly with overall hotel operations and guest journey standards.

Profit & Commercial Performance

  • Drive revenue growth through strategic planning, upselling initiatives, innovative treatments, and trend-driven offerings.
  • Prepare and analyze daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual operational and financial reports.
  • Contribute to annual operating and capital expenditure budgets and monitor financial performance against targets.
  • Maintain accurate records, statistics, and payroll data for the department.
  • Actively manage cost controls, labor efficiency, merchandising, and retail performance.
  • Work closely with PR and Marketing teams to promote Spa services, concepts, and brand positioning.

What you bring:

  • Minimum 5 years of senior management experience in a luxury Five-Star Resort or Spa environment.
  • Strong operational knowledge of Spa treatments, wellness concepts, contraindications, and industry best practices.
  • Proven experience in budgeting, financial analysis, revenue generation, and cost control.
  • Excellent command of English (spoken and written); additional languages are a strong advantage.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, discretion, and leadership maturity.
  • Ability to perform under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and lead large teams effectively.
  • Advanced computer literacy and experience with Spa management systems.
  • A forward-looking mindset combined with respect for established standards and luxury service traditions.
  • A genuine passion for wellness, guest experience, and continuous improvement.
