Operations Manager

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in engineering
  • Fluency in English and Turkish
  • Proven experience in operations, engineering, industrial or supply chain management.
  • Previous multi-site or off-site management and 3PL experience
  • Overall understanding of inbound and outbound operations as well as support function roles.
  • Clear understanding of Electronic B2B Communication (EDI, XML)
  • Excellent computer based skills with Microsoft Office applications (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word).
  • Strong data analysis skills with the ability to produce, interpret and draw conclusions from data.
  • Experience in LEAN or Kaizen activities.

We are currently searching for an experienced Operations Manager who will be a valuable member of the Turkey Team. The successful candidate will be responsible of management, control and direction of operations and will be the main interface between multifunctional team. She/he will work to improve continuously the functionality, the productivity and the level of service that we provide to our customers.

Tasks/ Responsibilities:

  • Manage, control and report operational performance, cost and capacity
  • Ensure processes, systems and tools are implemented by Amazon. Contribute and lead forming of SOPs
  • Contribute and lead projects within Operations to support business.
  • Monitor, analyze and work on improvement of customer experience and delivery performance.
  • Maintain and develop KPIs and SLAs through daily management and follow-up.
  • Contribute to process improvement and cost optimization initiatives. Lead lean projects in order to ensure continuous and sustainable improvements.
  • Prioritize, manage and contribute to new projects and programs. Identify new software feature necessities, evaluate and set stakeholder expectations.
  • Develop and maintain strong communication processes to ensure smooth and efficient flow of accurate information across Amazon’s Retail and external fulfillment teams.
  • Liaise and work with internal support teams to ensure all relevant equipment and support is planned and implemented in site.
  • Monitor and give guidance to 3PL organization. Work with 3PL partner to improve organization’s capabilities and qualifications.

The Role:

  • This role involves extensive stakeholder collaboration (e.g. retail, supply chain, transportation, finance) to design and project manage 3PLs and execute those plans to deliver customer promises. This requires the ability to influence, negotiate, coach and lead in a fast moving environment where priorities can change rapidly.
  • This role is also a hands-on operational role that will involve the contract management of 3PL and the direct management of Amazon teams
  • The role requires you to collaborate with 3PL operations to improve the delivery and processes.
  • The role is based in Istanbul and requires frequent visits to 3PL locations which are in different cities of Turkey.
  • Proficiency in analytical tools, as data-warehouse tables; UNIX, SQL, Visual Basic.
