Staff Software Engineer / Medical Devices

Description

  • We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer with deep experience in real-time and safety-focused software development for medical devices.
  • Design, implement, and integrate software components for data processing, control logic, communication interfaces, and system coordination.
  • Evaluate requirements, prototype solutions, implement features, and support verification activities in a regulated environment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, take ownership of features, and deliver results in a fast-moving environment.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience developing and shipping software for embedded systems, medical devices, or other safety-critical platforms.
  • Strong proficiency in C++ and Python, including structured software design, debugging, and performance optimization.
  • Experience developing for embedded Linux or real-time OS environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Yocto, U-Boot, device tree customization, Linux kernel configuration, cross-compilation toolchains, and board bring-up workflows.
  • Hands-on experience with system-level integration, hardware interfaces, and peripheral communication.
  • Familiarity with Git workflows, branching strategies, and code review practices.
  • Ability to analyze, architect, prototype, implement, test, document, and support the complete software lifecycle.
  • Proven track record of delivering reliable and maintainable software in complex systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in regulated medical device development.
  • Familiarity with IEC 62304, verification/validation workflows, simulation testing, and documentation control.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks, including SIL (Software-in-the-Loop) and HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) testing environments.
  • Background in signal processing, control, sensing, or device-level system coordination.
