We are looking for a Financial Controller who will play a key role in ensuring financial integrity, compliance, and strategic insight for our operations in Türkiye. This is a high-impact role within our Accounting & Controlling team, offering visibility across regional and global finance functions.

About the role

In close partnership with FMC’s Global Accounting COE in Ireland, this role ensures the accuracy of monthly Local GAAP and US GAAP closing processes for FMC Corporation’s Türkiye entity, focusing on non-standard processes, knowledge-centric accounting entries, and judgmental areas.

The Financial Controller will maintain FMC Türkiye’s local GAAP SAP ledger in line with statutory and tax rules, prepare and review annual statutory and tax filings, and lead communication on regulatory changes. This role serves as the key point of contact for Türkiye, collaborating with global COEs and providing training on controls and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with FMC’s Accounting COE in Ireland to guide Local GAAP and US GAAP closing processes.
  • Lead efficiency improvements, automation, and best practice implementation.
  • Review revenue recognition processes and related reserves.
  • Prepare monthly accounting accruals in coordination with FP&A.
  • Review financial results and promptly respond to inquiries from FP&A and COE teams.
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations and provide feedback.
  • Review quarterly and annual income tax provisions and returns.
  • Assist in preparation of statutory financial statements.
  • Manage third-party providers ensuring processes are completed on time.
  • Lead the external audit processes.
  • Ensure compliance with local tax and accounting requirements.
  • Ensure that a clear reconciliation is maintained between US and local ledger results.
  • Prepare and review statistical and treasury reports.
  • Lead tax audits and communicate regulatory changes.
  • Drive strategic continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Act as a point of contact for EMEA Internal Audit team, collaborating with internal and external auditors to address control gaps.
  • Review internal control frameworks and EMEA internal control book.
  • Prepare cash and currency forecasts for hedging purposes.
  • Respond to internal and external stakeholder requests.
  • Ensure SOX compliance and support internal audit processes.
  • Provide leadership to local finance staff.

Qualifications/ Experience/ Skills

  • Professional recognized accountancy qualification.
  • Solid experience with Turkish GAAP.
  • Experience with US GAAP and SOX compliance.
  • Proficiency in statutory account preparation.
  • Advanced MS Excel and SAP experience.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in similar roles and international environments.
  • Experience in matrix organizations.
  • Organized with strong prioritization skills.
  • Able to deliver in ambiguous environments.
  • Self-starter with high accountability.
  • Effective communicator and business partner.
  • Skilled in stakeholder engagement and resolution.
  • Risk-aware and process-oriented.
