Job Description
Responsible for providing technical expertise, guidance, and perform instrument services. Service instrument on routine scheduled and non-routine call out at various locations. Perform preventative maintenance (PM) and calibration at various locations. Assess instrument problems, perform repairs, services, and recommend repairs on major problems. Provide evaluations and recommendations for parts and instrument purchase based on condition, performance and technology. When necessary, performing necessary work – whether it’s a minor tweak or a major overhaul.
- Develop and implement SOP for Preventative Maintenance and Calibration process.
- Monitor system performance and make recommendations for improvement.
- Assist in the training of new equipment, software, methods. As Needed
- Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues related to software, hardware, and networking systems.
- Calibration and Preventative Maintenance of instruments
- Quickly identify non-operative and malfunctioning instruments before damage can occur.
- Troubleshoot test failures to determine root causes and develop processes to avoid repeat failure.
- Develop plans, establish timelines, and manage resources to successfully deliver projects.
- Communicate and work vendors to coordinate purchases and resources needed for PM and calibration.
- Assists staff and client in corrective and preventive action requests when needed.
- Prepare technical documents and presentations for internal and external use
- May report results to internal and external customers on an as needed basis.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related sciences and/or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of previous instrumentation and calibration experience in a chemistry lab setting, working with chemicals, petrochemicals, and petroleum products
- 3+ years of experience in a regulated commercial lab environment
- 1+ year of protocol and report writing experience, preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of routine & non-routine testing methods
- 5+ years of oil, gas and chemical industry experience in a laboratory (Preferred)
The salary range for this position is dependent on experience can be anywhere from $75,000 – $100,000. In addition, your compensation package includes the following benefits:
- Participation in the Company’s benefit programs coincident or following the first of the month in which you are hired.

- Paid vacation
- Four (4) floating holidays annually
