Job Identification

This role will serve as the primary point of contact for Personal Data Protection, Information Security, and Intellectual Property Rights issues within the Legal Department – Compliance and serves 12 countries within the Group Office. In addition to the primary responsibilities, this role will also be responsible for developing and promulgating the ethics and compliance standards across the CCI and especially in the field of developing and implementing competition law compliance, data privacy compliance, anti-corruption policies and procedures, and training Company employees regarding the Code of Ethics and relevant policies.

As Legal Counsel, you will be partnering with the business units, especially with the commercial teams, with the aim of sustaining compliance in daily operations and will be supporting the business units in an effective way, with a commercial mindset as a collaborative partner.

Main Responsibilities

  • Regularity Monitoring – Monitor legal and regulatory developments, assess the potential impact for stakeholders, support, and advise on implementation strategies to comply with legal and regulatory changes.
  • Compliance – Provide expert legal advice on data privacy laws, GDPR, competition laws, intellectual property rights, and devise policies, trainings, and implement them.
  • Contracts – Draft, negotiate procurement, sales, and marketing agreements, and provide compliance advice regarding relevant competition law requirements.
  • Consultancy – Ensure compliance with consumer protection, advertising, and e-commerce regulations in daily business and campaigns
  • Audit – Be on the field to assess compliance standards, plan, and conduct compliance audits regularly

Capabilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in law and admission to Turkish Bars of Association as a registered attorney at law
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a law firm or as an in-house with notable experience on compliance, especially on competition law, personal data protection and e-commerce compliance. Experience in FMCG sector would be valuable
  • Experience in contract and commercial law, competition law, data privacy law, mergers &acquisitions
  • Excellent communication skills and fluent command in English
  • Significant presentation and communications skills
  • Strong business and legal advisory skills in a demanding and fast-paced environment
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with functions and operations to coordinate compliance program and initiatives
  • Traveling domestically and internationally as needed
