This role is primarily responsible for the timely completion of our monthly close activities and providing business support to the Commercial business Leaders. The position leads, supervises and develops the general accounting and consolidations, working across accounting functions and international teams, providing analysis and delivering insight that links financial analysis to business strategies, to ensure key commercial, and financial targets are delivered.
This position will report directly to the VP Finance – EMEA and will be part of both EMEA Finance team and Turkey Leadership team.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for all US GAAP and statutory accounting for local entities under US GAAP and local GAAP
- Coordinate month end close activities with FPA, Payroll, Tax, Treasury and Corporate Accounting to ensure compliance with corporate deadlines.
- Coordinate with Corporate Accounting, Revenue, Treasury teams for reporting and data requests along with any unusual transaction.
- Responsible for local Statutory, Tax and VAT filings of local entities, working with local accounting providers and third parties for preparation and oversight
- Lead Finance Business Partner by offering insights and financial advice that will allow management to make business decisions
- Manage the Finance Team in Turkey, including credit collection and Accounting
- Identify Risks & Opportunities and provide decision support to Sales, Marketing and General Administrative business partners.
- Manage financial planning process related to EMEA operating expense. Includes review and rationalization of financial inputs for annual operating plan and quarterly forecasts, ensuring financial plans are linked with operating objectives and in line with finance laws and regulations.
- Prepare and distribute monthly reports and analysis on operating expense as compared to the operating plan and forecasts. Maintain standard financial metrics, helping business partners set financial benchmark goals as appropriate.
- Improve the efficiency of forecasting processes and tools as required.
- Ensure compliance with global policies and internal controls under SOX
- Participate in projects as accounting representative including SAP projects
- Point of contact for external and internal auditors
- Assisting Corporate Tax Team with Transfer Pricing
- Oversee overall condition of the entity, prepare monthly CF Forecast
- Manage cash flow by tracking transactions and regularly reviewing internal reports
- Execute month end close process (account for: accruals, prepayments, FAs, banks etc.)
- Preparation/review of quarterly finance statement fluctuation analysis
- Preparation and review of TB and statutory financial statements
- Provide data to third parties and coordinate review of tax filings before filing
- Preparation/review Blacklines BS reconciliations
- Understanding the cost drivers of the business and providing insight to the non-finance members
- Ensure financial data Financial Planning systems are accurate and complete.
- Prepare and interpret key performance dashboards for their respective channel leads, flag evolution of key trends
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- At least 15 years of experience in General accounting / External Audit and Financial analysis
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or economics – required. ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent
- Proficient in general accounting under US GAAP and Local GAAP
- People management skills and experience
- Experience of working with local ERP, SAP, and BI tools is desirable.
- Understanding of internal control and SOX requirements
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and communicate effectively in order to explain financial concepts to non-finance people.
- Advanced Financial Management and performance management skills
- Advanced analytical skills, mastery with MS Excel
- Strong communication and presentation skills required
- A proactive leadership and self-starter attitude, work independently with minimal supervision, International experience and mind-set
- Ability to interact with and influence key decision makers and think strategically
- Ability to prepare and analyze P&L components, with related financial metrics
- Ability to work on complex issues and perform in-depth evaluations and knowledge of layout and design best practices for reports and dashboards
- Fluent in English (Preferably additional language)
- Ability to travel abroad up to 20% of the time for training and internal meeting purposes
