The Research & Development Specialist makes an impact by –

  • Manages recipes, inputs, and databases
  • Supports co-manufacturing trials and product launches at both the Conestoga, PA and Searcy, AR sites
  • Collaborates with prospective customers to evaluate new formulas and processes, ensuring feasibility before implementation
  • Transfers and aligns formulations between internal platforms
  • Leads recipe and process optimization from scope to execution
  • Creates formulation and sample prototypes
  • Oversees project development tasks, documentation, and cross-functional updates
  • Provides support for daily production needs
  • Administers and maintains file organization and cleanup of pre-existing files
  • Available to travel up to 25% based on project requirements
  • Performs all duties in compliance with all corporate and regulatory quality, GLP, and safety regulations
  • Performs all duties within the established Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) regulations
  • Supports the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the Safe Quality Foods (SQF), Food Safety and Quality
  • Is accountable to the TH Food Safety and Quality Principles
  • Follows established programs, policies, and practices to produce safe quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements
  • Performs all other duties as assigned

You could be a great fit if you have these things –

  • B.S. in Food, Dairy, or related science field with a minimum of 5 years of experience within an R&D function in a consumer product goods (CPG) company OR 5+ years of experience working with applicable systems and processes in a CPG company (preferably within the food and/or beverage category)
  • Strong computer skills, especially in Microsoft Suite and Adage
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Performs all duties within the established Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) regulations

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

  • The employee is required to talk and/or hear in an office setting (noise level is low) and manufacturing setting where noise levels can be high (PPE required)
  • The employee is frequently required to stand and walk in an office or manufacturing environment from 4-8+ hours
  • The employee must be able to ascend and descend stairs, and where applicable and when necessary, to perform various job-related tasks
  • Must be able to position self to move, reach with arms/hands, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed to perform various job-related tasks
  • The employee must be able to inspect all job-related equipment (office or floor) to ensure it is in good working condition prior to use. Must be able to use hands/fingers to handle (or feel) to operate various types of office equipment.
  • Must be able to operate all job-related equipment (powered, hand or office) as required
  • Vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception and adjust focus
  • Ability to lift 20 pounds and/or push/pull 20 pounds on a regular or occasional basis
