Job Responsibilities

1. Assist in the training of new employees, maintain training records & documentation necessary

2. Line Attendant is responsible to learn all of the graded positions in the department

3. Work with the new employees on training them with the specific skills for the graded positions

4. Provide new employees with exemplary work behaviors including: attendance, safety & personal hygiene

5. Administer directions for the proper care & use of personal protective equipment

6. Provide instructions to all trainees on HACCP, SSOP and department rules

7. Communicate to the supervisor as to the progress of the employees

8. Perform any additional tasks or responsibilities as required by the supervisor

Minimum Qualifications

  • Good verbal, written & basic math skills
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Ability to do or learn all jobs in the department as well as operating jobs
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Knowledge of department products, Material Handling License is required or the ability to get one
  • Ability to read, write and speak English

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Training experience, First Aid/CPR certified
  • Actively involved in a department safety and/or quality committee
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and public speaking ability
  • Working knowledge of all scale operator and line jobs

At Hormel Foods, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range.
