Kurdish Medical Interpreter (Contractor)

Liberty Language Services in Tysons, VA is hiring for Kurdish medical interpreters in the Washington DC Metro Area! Interpreters must be local to the DMV region and be able to travel on-site to the location of the assignments.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a 1099 independent contractor position. The number of assignments & hours that you will receive from our agency will vary depending on our clients’ demand for your language(s) and your own ability to accept interpreting assignments offered by our agency.

General Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• High School Diploma (required), Bachelor’s Degree (highly preferred)
• Must have completed or be willing to complete a 40-hour medical interpreter training course (ex. Bridging the Gap)
• Must be able to pass oral language proficiency tests for English and Kurdish
• Must be comfortable working on-site in hospitals and other medical facilities
• Must be able to submit immunization records (MMR, Varicella, TDAP, Hep B) and complete yearly flu shot and TB screening
• Must have flexible work schedule (Mondays-Fridays, between 7am-7pm)
• Must be able to travel throughout Washington DC Metro Area
• Must be able to pass drug screening and background check

All medical interpreters are provided with PPE by hospitals. Additionally, Liberty provides all new interpreters with a complimentary PPE kit complete with face shields, face masks and hand sanitizer.
