Support Sales Agent (IAH)

Air General, a national cargo handling company, is seeking a Sales Support Agent to handle our Turkish Airlines account at our George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) location. Job Responsibilities:
Support sales activities within the sales area.

Provide administrative support as needed.

Back office support.

Record keeping as required.

Perform all deputized duties when sales staff is out of the office.

Maintain sales manuals and files.

Administration of all account information.

AWB administration.

Communication with TK customers, in writing and on phone.

Provide booking and rate information.

Advise customers of TK products.

On instruction from TK, encourage high yield products whenever possible.

Maintain excellent product knowledge.

Maximize yields and revenues.

Track revenue vs. targets and other information as specified by customer.

Compile statistics as required by TK or AG

Develop and maintain a Top Account List.

Ensure maximum efforts are expended to all TK top accounts

Contact TK accounts by giving them extra attention, being proactive with information, and anticipating their needs.

Advise operational staff of sales plans and activities on a daily basis.

Coordinate daily load plan with operational staff to ensure prioritized loading and maximum utilization of available cargo capacity.

Coordinate with operations staff, manage the follow up and tracing of any short-shipped, missing, or found cargo of top accounts.

Coordinate with operational staff any special measures to ensure proper handling of valuables, perishables, live animal shipments, and special loads.

Other duties and responsibilities

Prepare statistics and reports, as required by customer and managers, and distribute to all relevant parties. Maintain logs, files, and statistics as required.

Provide details about shipments or handling incidents, which may result in future claims.

Investigate tracing action, perform follow-up, and keep customer informed of progress.

Provide customers with information concerning the status of their shipments.

Review and handle all messages requiring immediate responses or special handling. Liaise with customer or manager as required.

Survey all work areas for neat, clean, and orderly conditions. Areas must be free of debris and any other work safety hazards.

Challenge unauthorized persons entering non-public areas and report the incident to a manager.

Adhere to all FAA, Airport, US Airways and Air General safety and security procedures, and immediately report any discrepancies to a manager.

Work cooperatively with all fellow employees and all TK Sales staff to service their customers, including shippers, consignees, drivers, freight forwarders and brokers.

Present a professional appearance; acknowledge a waiting customer’s presence; be helpful and courteous; be friendly.

Use proper telephone etiquette; answer phones within 4 rings.

Check daily briefings and ensure all staff are briefed.

Perform any other duties as directed by the managers.

Requirements:
Must be able to pass all pre-employment screenings, background checks, and airport/government security background checks

Must be able to pass a drug test

High school diploma preferred

Must have sales experience

Must possess a valid Drivers License

Must be able to obtain valid airport I.D. badge.

Must be able to lift 70 pounds

Must have basic computer skills

Must be at least 18 years of age

Must be able to clearly understand and communicate in English when performing essential job functions

Must be available to work varied shifts, including nights, and occasionally on weekends, and holidays.
