JOB DESCRIPTION

Afiniti seeks a mid-level Immigration Paralegal to draft US immigration documents and coordinate global visa applications. The paralegal will primarily be responsible for preparing a high volume of L-1 Consular petitions as well as H-1B, TN, E-3, PERM, AOS, and EB-1C filings. Outside of the US, the paralegal will also be asked to oversee global visa cases including working with internal and external resources to coordinate visas and relocations. Reporting to the Associate General Counsel, Employment & Immigration, a successful immigration paralegal at Afiniti will be comfortable in a fast-paced environment for a dynamic Legal team. This position requires someone meticulously organized who also has the ability to explain complex immigration concepts to employees and managers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Draft forms and letters for visa applications

Prepare documents for submission

Work with Pakistan based visa desk team to coordinate visa applications

Recommend immigration strategies

Facilitate global visa applications

Maintain detailed records of global visa portfolio

Research and stay informed of developments in immigration laws

Work directly with employees at all levels to prepare visa cases

Manage INSZoom for all US cases

Assist with relocation issues

Work with HR, finance, and real estate teams as needed to execute joint initiatives and coordinate employee relocations

YOU WILL HAVE

3+ years of US immigration experience

Must have experience drafting L-1 and H-1B petitions

Familiarity with using INSZoom or a similar program

Exceptional communication skills

Experience with Consular Processing

Meticulous organization and record keeping skills

Excellent judgment, including in handling of sensitive and confidential information

Ambitious, driven, self-starter

Collegial, team player, sense of humor

Preferred:
Experience with coordinating PERM applications

Experience responding to Requests for Evidence

Global mobility experience

Experience in the tech industry

Second language fluency (Urdu, Spanish, Romanian, Turkish, or French)

Additional Information:
Must submit a writing sample and references.

The Immigration Paralegal will work primarily in our Washington, DC office. Flexible hours and work from home days will be considered but approximately 2 days per week in the office are expected.

Travel required less than 5%.
